What the F happened to the parry mechanics
Seems like after the patch, there is no point in using fencing melee weapons no more.
It doesn't have better parry window, lower damage, lower attack speed, I mean what the hell?
Now Im just having loads of parrying problems when fighting in the middle of a ♥♥♥ horde just because the parry window is now freaking weird.
Im having a skill issue? yes! and that was the whole point of fencing melee weapons. That they had a better parry window at the cost of lower damage but than after the recent update, it all went to sh for me.
Why not bring it all back??? Was it just good for me only??

The parry mechanics are bugged right now. Devs know it and they're working on fixing it.

It seems that you can parry attacks only from a 180 degree radius in front of you (a little more perhaps), and the parry window activates a little later.
It is still better than going with block though.

On their Discord, and saw it on Reddit. Hope they fix it as soon as this weekend, cause right now the game is almost unplayable if you are surrounded by enemies.

dunno, fencing feels normal to me.

block weapons, when "perfect parrying", give weird red glow and with 3 parries, next melee attack explodes, not a fan of THAT.

Fencing is not normal, sometimes you don't parry when you should. I absolutely never missed parry before 5.0, even on lethal. But right now half of the parries i try do nothing and i get hit.

The parry window on fencing weapons got literally halfed in the last patch. Add to that a fixed human reaction time and the window feels even smaller than that.

Ok, "returning" player here, took a break for a like a 3 weeks? a month?

I did it for several reasons, but parrying wasn't one of them, I got back yesterday, and I just played 3 missions earlier, and I didn't notice anything wrong with fencing weapons, I was worried from what I've read but tbh, this game doesn't suffer from the fencing weapon being weak or something else related to that, they still need to work on the two other types of melee, but fencing is fine, I mean it, Ruthless missions(still have not tried Lethal) didn't have any prob.

And EVEN! with delayed parry, it worked fine so.. I don't know, ppl who complain might have Vram, ram, GPU, or CPU issues. The parry works even when we do the mistake to react poorly.

The timings are off try using balanced until they fix it bro. TBH balanced still feels off too but I found it better than fencing for now..... On the plus side they buffed damage for balanced and block by 10% and there's a hotfix coming soon.

I'll admit it, I'm a stubborn bastard. I don't even like using stims. It actually pisses me off lmao
So the occasional hit slipping thru my parry when I get multiple whip guys or warriors?

Yeah I've had to take a bit of a breather personally. lol I don't even die, I just be brooding for the rest of the mission. Like a damn kid throwing a tantrum.

Seems like overall player counts are up tho which I am happy about

People might have issues like you said, but devs admited that parrying is bugged. Nothing to discuss here, it's bugged even if you didn't notice anything wrong.

I can't for the life of me understand the "WoRKs FiNe FoR mE" comments . . . As you said, the game is literally almost unplayable once you're swarmed or dealing with multiple Tyranid warriors at once. Saber seriously needs to STOP this nerfing-making you an even weaker little bitsch than we are with pea shooting bolters-nonsense. They shouldn't have touched fencing AT ALL, the AOE reduction is mayhaps the reason for this boondoggle and that couldn't have possibly been a more vehemently unnecessary change.
