Best Tactical Weapons /w use cases
Wondering what the better tactical weapons are these days, on launch it was simply grenade launcher spam.

Guess the question is which weapons excel where and why and which are most used at the moment!

Bolt Carbine – The accurate variant is excellent, lands every headshot with ease
Stalker – Great choice for quickly deleting bosses and zoans (plus chaos)
HBR – Decent, but nothing standout for now, might get a buff in the next patch?
Plasma & Melta – Top-tier options due to their strong stagger potential

Pair any of these with a block chainsword and auspex scan on parry/block perk, now you can solo absolute with ease, congrats

You're welcome! Yeah it was pretty bad, with recent buffs and a new mechanic called "adrenaline surges" for block weapons, it can surpass fencing especially on Tactical bc of its perk, you can delete a pack of tyranid in one combo

Yeah you gotta be good at reading enemy attacks and timings too otherwise it'd be useless

And if you're gonna use the block power sword forget it lol, it just has more cleaving, you're better off with the fencing PS imo

noted! i generally went with the fencer PS but was working on timing improvements to switch to a balance.
Thanks :D

Anytime, best explanation for melee type timings I've seen is this

fencing window: ====-------
balanced window: ---===------
block window: ==-----------

Balance probably has the worst timings there but I like it on the power fist

yeah the stats are nice but damn the timing is rough!
Stalker is amazing. Plasma is stalker with less work but probably slightly worse ammo efficiency, depending on how you use it.

I switch to plasma for the hive tyrant and heldrake though, makes short work of those. Deletes the tzaangor enlightened if you just dont want to look at them.

I dont care much for block, myself, but I can see the appeal, use whatever you like there though. Still feels like the game is built to reward parries more, for most classes. Nice to parry once in the middle of 5 warriors and mark them all with Battle Focus, then finish them off with one or two stalker shots to the head, depending on other perks. Rarely even use the full auspex scan.

Block purple chainsword is absolutely jacked..... why weapon progression wasn't just linear with small stat gains and the relic version of each weapon being the best not sure... but here we are

its fast, it has damage, it goes thru chainsword combos super fast, it blocks super fast. As long as you know when to block and when to roll it just gives you so much more damage output out of your melee its crazy

Stalker Bolt - is my favorite on tactical, kills majoris in 4+1(or)+exec , or with scan 2+1(or)+exe. It absolutely deletes zoan's and neuro's. It does so much damage at killing elites quickly with less ammo that tactical can easily keep this weapon with plenty of ammo with Emp Veng, as long as your not spamming it into hordes

As for hordes you have a super fast chainsword, you can get to stomp super fast you can scan on block and melee elites down super fast. The class is just jacked to the extreme I always feel like I am playing on an easier difficulty setting when playing tactical

Stalker is best for single target.

Plasma has strong aoe and probably the better option if you are solo queuing with pugs.

Melta will allow you to wipe out the lowest 4 difficulties for leveling up super quickly. Will have ammo issues in the higher difficulties.

Grenade launcher was a bit overnerfed, but not so much it isnt still a good option.

As others have stated block chainsword is really good. That with Battle Focus is nasty.

If you want to play a more melee oriented run and gun style tactical Auto Bolt Rifle is really good. It has good hipfiring accuracy so anything short or medium range don't need to aim down sights. Just put the cursor on target and fire. Can keep fighting nonstop interweaving melee with hip firing ranged attacks as needed. Good rate of fire, good clip size, quick reload, good amount of ammo reserves. It also still can hit long range targets reasonably well. It's a nice blend of in close smg rate of fire with long range accuracy of a rifle.
I do quickplay with randoms on lethal and absolute and you can expect typically about 10k-15k ranged damage overall with another 8k-15k melee damage.
carbine is slept on. Ignore any youtuber saying things like BEST IN TOP DIFFUCULTY you can clearly see they have mods which change more than just playing alone.
