Yeah, but now when I aim I can't right click .... I should Middle Mouse.
I'll just get use to it I suppose
Mouse1 - shoot
Mouse2 - aim
Mouse3 - mark target / comm wheel
Mouse4 - melee
Mouse5 - parry
m2 aim
alt melee
space dodge
capslock parry
literally the best setup
I feel so old XD
When my controller broke it took a while to finally find a formula I could manage but manage it I did.
Part of it came from realizing that you don't have a duck or crawl function in this game unlike so many shooters, so that opens the 'C' and 'Ctrl' keys to do something else. The game also doesn't know if you have a five button mouse so you should take advantage of that.
Now, in most games, right click is "aim" but methinks you definitely want to leave it as melee. In other shooters, having melee assigned to a keyboard button makes sense since you'll only melee once in a blue moon, but this is more like Skyrim where you'll be using your "left-hand" and "right-hand" weapons constantly and you want that to remain seamless.
With those considerations in mind, consider my binding suggestions for inspiration:
Parry - Moved to "Mouse Button 5"; this was the BIGGEST and best change I did for myself! Having your parry button moved to the mouse side button DRASTICALLY improved my sense of control!
Aim - Moved to "Ctrl (toggle)" - This has been a huge help. Ctrl is often a "duck" or "crawl" button, and since aiming slows you down in this game anyway, moving aim to "Ctrl" just felt natural. Zooming in and out is maintained by the middle mouse button.
Heal - Moved to 'V' Key. Same as Helldivers.
Quick Swap Weapons - Moved to the 'C' Key
Target Lock - Moved to "Mouse Button 4" or "Middle Mouse Button." Since target locking on to a majoris/extremis is something you're only sparsely interested in for the sake of focused melee, I felt that function better belonged on the mouse. Besides, it's default location (which was X or something) is just too awkward when you're left hand is occupied with movement.
Becomes quite unwieldy when you need a separate button for literally every action in the game. The solution is to fiddle for a long time until you find something that works, or just play on controller where it feels more natural.
Not angry.
Just weird that every action is required a key binding.
In other games actions can be bind to the same key.
Example.
Right Click Hold Aim, Left Click Shoot.
Left Click with no Aim Melee.
Right Click Fast Block or Parry
Now in this game each action requires separate weird inputs that never made any sence in these types of games.
But I got my advice from the people, will use what they gave me
