whats the point in an offline mode, if no progress can be made?

To put it simply you can play without Internet. Your progress should be saved as long as you don’t go online. This is to prevent cheating. My personal opinion is they should just devide it into a separate offline savefile and let us download the online progress to override the offline file on our own, if we want to override.
what kind of cheating are they trying to prevent? its mainly a PvE cop op game.. with some pvp?

Ye, sorry dude but if you deny that people would be cheating even in pve games, you are either naiv or looking to do it yourself. Cause it very much sounds like a justification.
i just wanted to ask why we aren't allowed to progress in offline mode.. that was all i wanted to know..

Cheating should be banned online to prevent them ruining other player's experience. If they want to cheat offline, I don't care. I don't care if the progress carries over. So they might get access to levels and cosmetics without having earned it like you and I did, who cares? Maybe 1% of the playerbase will quick-level their weapons and get the lethal helmet unearned; that's a small price to pay if it allows people with bad or no internet to enjoy the game and actually progress as the developer's intended.
im not trying to take away anyone's enjoyment or ruin anyone's experience. i like many other Australians have very bad internet and a pretty low end PC. i live on disability with my sick wife battling cancer and a plethora of physical and mental health issues. ( im her FT carer) not being able to progress while offline just seems unfair weather players are cheating or not.. :'( sorry if i triggered anyone with this post/discussion. but i feel like it needs to be brought to attention.
I like how "Offline Mode" has morphed into cheating, with the lololy hilarious catch-phrase of "Im not trying to take away..." Yea friend, everyone knows what you are doing here. If you construe it properly, it becomes easily litigious, but I'm sure you yourselves don't need to worry about that right?
TBH it would be neat if offline progress in operations did carry over to online, since not everyone have good /stable internet so that once in a blue moon when you CAN go online then all your progress will still matter and you won't have to start from nothing, sure cheaters will come running but that is why private lobbies and the multiple discord servers exist, so you can game with non-cheaters.
Cheats (trainer) worked in online PvE and Campaign modes the same day 4.5 was dropped.
all cheating aside... which i do agree with it being banned in all online games. all im saying is the progress should carry over. cheating should be banned in all online gaming 10000% but this idea of progress not being able to carried over is a real let down. weather players choose to cheat of not.. that's irrelevant.
