Solo Play
I am going out on assumption that this game is dead in my area.

So I will mostly do everything in this game Solo.

How playable is this as a solo player?

I don't think it that dead brother. But matchmaing is just sad.

To play solo, campaign is fine, but operation is design to play as co-op (no scaling, everything is set for 3 people) So if you not get use to game mechanic yet. It'll be harsh experience because of swarm and solo Terminus because bot is useless against any boss. But yes, you can solo. More comfortable once you have gear on par with that difficulty. Some class do have life changing perk like armor on gunstrike etc.

You can try Minimal until you use to the cliff learning curve, parry and gun strike to comfortable point. Then switch to Substantial for better reward (Average is a trap, not worth your time at all cost)

Why would you make that assumption? What region do you live in?

Bots are ok, you will miss out on some upgrade ressources but those are only needed to make higher difficulties easier, so if you are fine with playing not the highest difficulty, no biggie.

Some cosmetics are also unobtainable but all in all solo is doable but, as is always the case, coop is more fun imho.

Very playable but you might find you have to approach ops at a slower pace or just use a different strategy from co-op. Can be tricky but finishing a lvl with 2 data feels just as rewarding

Pure solo player here. It's doable, very doable, but most of the bots are terrible.

Things to keep in mind:
1) Bots can only keep the attention of 1 Majoris or about 3 Minoris at a time if you are in line of sight and have not recently caused damage, so you will have the rest of the enemies focusing on you; Extremis and Terminus are exceptions and will switch their focus during the fight (except for Zoanthropes and Neurothropes who will always focus on you).

2) Bots can actually do ok damage to Minoris, Majoris, and Extremis, but usually don't because the AI on the bots is terrible. Bots do pitiful damage to Terminus enemies.

3) You can't choose the bots, and the game seems to be pretty insistent on trying to put at least 1 of the 2 worst bots in the party, and the only way to attempt to force the bots you want to play with is to quit the operation and re-select it and hope.

4) Bots are not created equal, and some are better than others:

A)The best bot is the Heavy, he does work and will be your friend, because he prioritizes using his heavy bolter, and it actually does good damage.

B) Sniper is the 2nd best bot, because he also realizes he has a rifle that does decent damage, but he has a tendency to Grimderp out and engages in melee more readily.

C) Bulwark is the 3rd best bot, because it is clear he really wanted to be a sniper, and he will use his Plasma Pistol frequently along with dropping his banner quite often.

D) Tactical is the 4th best bot, he shoots somewhat reliably, and once in a blue moon drops his auspex.

E) Vanguard is 2nd worst bot, he thinks he is the meme of Rambo, and tries to constantly melee enemies, only remembers he has a bolter if he is teamed up with Heavy or Sniper, but still uses it like he has only a single magazine for the entire operation.

F) Assault is the absolute worst bot, he will occasionally take out Minoris enemies, will occasionally execute Majoris enemies that are stunned and no longer threats, will never hit any enemy that is flying, and will sometimes run for 5 seconds to get in the face of an enemy only to then stop for a 1/2 second and switch to his pistol and proceed to miss the enemy in front of him.

5) Vanguard is probably the best solo class for survivability, with a generous parry window, and the final level 25 skill giving reliable health on executes and melee kills. The grappling hook also makes it easy to interrupt reinforcement call outs, or get distance from any enemies swarming you, particularly helpful with Tyranids. Also, it might just be me, but it feels like all of Vanguard's animations are faster than the other classes, so it is easier to actually do melee combos. Personal note: Too bad I don't particularly like the grappling hook, the Phobos armor design, and the Vanguard bot soured me on Vanguard in general, because it made me not like playing the class, even though it is possible to play very sloppy with Vanguard and still end an operation with full health.

6) Speaking of reinforcement call outs from point 5, bots will only interrupt a reinforcement call out if it is the last active Majoris currently in their vicinity, or if it just happens to be the one that they are currently engaged with.

7) Bots will actually use frag grenades throughout the operation. There was a point where they either wouldn't at all, or they would use all of them in the first couple of encounters and then no more, but since patch 4.1 they either use their grenades more sparingly, or have them on a cool down. The bots' grenades even occasionally prove somewhat helpful.

8) As of 11/15/2024 how you have levelled up the other classes, weapons, skill and perk selection, and armor customization doesn't affect the bots.

9) Somewhat of a Spoiler regarding armory data: If you want to get an easy Artificer or Relic armory data for your first weapon, I have found fall of Atreus to actually be the easiest one. You receive help from a Dreadnought at multiple points making those sections a cake walk, and if the Helbrute spawns during the battery escort section you can hum Yakity Sax (the Benny Hill music) when the Helbrute is focused on you while escorting the battery through the puzzle sequence and not have to worry about waves and finish him off before the ending defense.

10) Play all the classes. Level all the classes. This will make you a better player with whatever your chosen class is, because the limitations of the other classes will help you learn the various timings and enemy behaviors.

11) If you are not into doing operations multiple times, don't like grinding for unlocks, and/or get bored of the type of game play Space Marine 2 offers, then solo play is still very doable, but just stick to doing Minimal once to see the operations for how they flesh out more of the campaign's structure/story. The bosses are all from the campaign, and don't offer anything new and won't be worth the headache of dealing with on a low level class with the weakest weapons.

Edit: 12) Bots do not assist on interactions, such as pushing buttons, searching bodies, focusing on high lighted/marked enemies, etc. The characters of the bots will still complain that buttons are taking too long to get pushed, bodies are taking too long to search. Yes, it is very annoying.

Coop means coop, not solo. In what region should the multiplayer be dead, Dschibuti ?

I suggest to get class that have bolter pistol + chain sword. So once you level it up, you have access to better start up weapon for other class.

I myself like the Sniper for many reason, he may not have heal (well, in Laz perk have pity one and sometime bug to heal up to full health...) But his ability to Camo to escape (or deal big damage) combine with second signature that allow lethal hit every 3 minute is very good when you need it. He also have best tool to deal with the worst enemy in the game, Zoanthrobe.

Still, every body have different taste so pick anything you like and enjoy it OP.

Very good advice. Sniper definitely does make Zoanthropes a cake walk, and that camo can be a life saver.
Bulwark is an easy solo class, too. But you well need to perks and you are really hard to kill by most enemies. One Perk you need is Armor back for non lethal gunstrikes. Second Perk regaining all HP with banners. So you can instant heal up.

Only thing I would add to this is a quality of life thing: when Bulwark sprints the game does this awful vignetting (seems to be due to the shield's power field effect), you can force this vignetting to cancel by switching the power sword's mode from fast to power or vice versa while sprinting. It was giving me an awful headache until I figured out how to cancel it.

you will be able to find other players in your region in any region, so no need for solo.

South Africa. Everything South African is dead. Because they don't play such games.

These genre games is in the Minority in South Africa. Not even Rainbow Six, Overwatch etc is active but there are 20k plus people playing

not only are there console players in your region, but if you want to play online games with others you should get a vpn which has been available for many years.

IF you do this, you can`t block range attacks while sprinting

When everything is dead don't have to worry about blocking ranged attacks, and all you're left with is headache induced vignetting and blur.
