Focus och longevity and the other chapters and the heretic ones. And try to make the multiplayer gameplay something grand. Think late 2000's early 2010 battlefield but with marines and all the vehicles, perhaps a 3rd disturbing faction as tyranids/orcs/genestealers.

Then you have a fricken gem of a game for many years to come.

They make great protagonist though, due to being good at everything and bad at nothing, all the other chapter are a lot more niche.

Are Ultrasmurfs overused? Yes.

Can you replace the Ultrasmurfs with more interesting space marine chapters? Probably.

Do Ultrasmurfs make more GW cash money than other chapters because they're more recognizable to the average consumer? Without a doubt.

would love to see another chapter take the stage but they're the posterboys of the space marines (and setting for that matter) for a reason, there are absolutely people who like them

it's kind of like superman or captain america, sure there's plenty who are tired of them but they're recognizable where many other characters aren't and just about everybody who has looked at the franchise for so much as a minute has some opinion on them, that's what you want when selling what you expect to be a big product, something people won't look at and go "who?"

besides space marine 1 followed ultramarines, space marine 2 is meant to be a continuation so of course it's going to follow ultramarines

I used to not like them, but this game made me love them.
Feels so strange, cause I love the Word Bearers, and here I am getting teary eyed over Titus. :(

Ultra Marines are fine. They're just the golden boys so they get hate. As a 40k fan you got to admire their history and accomplishments. It's the Roman Legion of Astartes. Just as Rome is over done - so are the blueberries. They put my Black Templars in coop/multi .. I'm happy.

They are doing better in recent lore I'd say but the shade of blue GW uses is so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ boring, like dude, don't be afraid of colour saturation.
