SPOILERS - the whole thing about Titus

So it's pretty confirmed at this point, Titus is a disgraced fugitive who runs away from the Inquisition and gets saved by the Ultramarines.

Honestly, I wonder why they don't just go full Deathwatch instead of Ultramarines, it would make even more sense considering all the class gameplay and cosmetics and the enemy is Tyranid.

The Ultramarines harboring a fugitive seems kinda ...eh.

Well they're not really harboring him. He get's reinstated but i do find it kinda spurred up and just out of the blue, with how they just reel him back in despite him already being in the Deathwatch

It makes the whole thing look suspicious.

Hell, the idea of Titus being in the Deathwatch is actually canon and would reinforce his status of being a goodboy, what's with this running away ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥? And just to fight Tyranid again?

The Inquisitor who was holding Titus was doing so illegally and hiding him from Calgar. It's only after said Inquisitor was killed by Grey Knights for Chaos corruption that the rest of the Inquisition discovered he was holding Titus and several other marines prisoner off the record.

In order to cover up what happened and save face they sent them all to Death Watch and lied to them about what happened. The Ultramarines rediscover him later and bring him back it to the fold, though not everyone in the chapter is happy about it.

I don't think Titus is a fugitive . . more than likely the ultramarines got so sick of leandros that they handed 'em to the inquisition and traded him for Titus

Calgar's relationship with Titus doesn't come form this game but stuff written about the character well after the first game came out, written by other authors.

His personal story is also tied to the Warp and Chaos, not Xenos. His story simply isn't a Deathwatch story.

And just taking away a Blackshield like Titus, might raise several unwanted eyebrows amongst the Deathwatch and Inquisition.

Appearantly Chief Librarian Varro Tigurius just happened to cruise around in the same System as Titus and then suddenly:"My Ultra senses are tingling!"

Ok so he did not run away, but made a last stand and rescued by the Ultramarines.

That's a bit better I guess.

My only issue then is the secrecy, why the need to cover Titus up?

My only issue then is the secrecy, why the need to cover Titus up?

Because in the world of 40k everyone must be suspicious and that causes in fighting. Leandros from the first game was suspicious and reported him....Thrax was suspicious and kept Titus locked up. You can't really blame them when demons possess people, cultists, and genestealers exist.

Calgar saw through the bullshittery of the inquisition and knew he was one of the Emperors finest and most loyal. Thus why Titus was reinstated and given both Primaris and a squad to lead.


Calgar wants him to prove to his brothers that he is who he is and not let him be remembered for a black mark that was utter ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ to begin with.


Play the game, it'll make sense.
