If the mine is not targeting you, you can smack it into something with melee parry button. (I play on PS5 so idk what that is on PC)
Also, if you don't rush like cattle, you will see the spores floating above tyranid packs, and if you shoot them, they will blow up where they are in a chain-reaction and it will kill some of the tyranids.
Most enemies will not attack you unless engaged or you're within their visual range. There's even a bug where sometimes they outright ignore you and you can walk past them.
- tried to hit with parry button - no impact
- tried to hit them with wave (power sword and fist heavy attacks)
- tried to hit them directly
As long as there is no green cloud around them - they are not "active" and you can hit them safely with melee. They'll fly in direction you stand and explode. Same happens with wave hit. Basically no difference. So, on paper looks like that's it. But I did throw around 10 inactive spore groups with various approaches, they blew up, they've killed minis and in ordeals it is still 0 :(
Saw with my eyes at least one minoris got killed with the spores. It didn't track any single of them.
Total garbage and unintuitive tactics design from Saber especially for survivality against horde enemies.
After countless attempts and methods, here's what worked for me in the end:
In a Private Match, rerun the beginning section of Inferno with Sniper on Minimal; Looking for those small crowds of 'gaunts with a handful of spores nearby. Be far enough ahead of your squad that the AI is busy dealing with what's behind you, cloak well before the mines or 'gaunts aggro, and shoulder bash the spores into the crowd. You'll get around 7 or 8 spore kills each time at best. Rinse and repeat. It took me about 30 minutes for me to complete the ordeal with this method.
Again, this will only work if you're in a Private Match on Minimal. Otherwise it is virtually guaranteed for the mines to be shot before you can reach them.
