I would like to see game focused on Horus Heresy. We could get really long and interesting campaign and then in DLCs for example, we would be able to see things from other Chapters perspective. Imagine you play campaign as one of Luna Wolves and then year later DLC comes out where you can experience story from the view of, let's say, Dark Angels Chapter. Or Iron Hands. Or any chapter really, there is so much going on in HH..
While it would provide big potential for narrative part of the game - campaign - it should also introduce parts that are missing in SM 2 - which is Chaos customization and Chaos missions and really big multiplayer battles. I can already see Annihilation on Istvaan V or Capture and Control on Terra.
Honestly I am 100% sure we won't get anything Chaos related in SM 2 but I am fine with that as long as we get it in next game. SM 2 is good now as it is.
Actually if you think about it for more than 5 minutes you´ll come to the conclusion that Ultramarines are definitely the best chapter to play as in a campaign. They are:
-Not retarded like most other legions (yes even dark angels with your paranoia are retarded)
-Good mix of being grim dark but still human enough that you can get away with helping regular people
-Colour blue and gold looks good
-Ancient Rome in space
All other legions have this childish gimmick, the Ultramarines are just more reasonable and as such its easier to identify with them.
Edit: I love all the legions and the whole of 40k, but there is a reason why the blueberries are the posterboys, and as such in big entries which try to get a big audience they'll be the focus. I love the Black Templars, but they are crazy religious lunatics. I love the Blood Angels, but they are vampiric monsters beneath their nobility. I love the Raven Guard, but they have a specific "emo" aesthetic and mindset that doesnt resonate with a large audience. This is why it's easier to put the Ultramarines infront atleast for the main Big games that hope to make a lot of money.
Hello little tourist, let me introduce you to a Chapter that your favorite YouTuber probably doesn't know about.
Celestial Lions
Go ahead. I'll wait for you to google frantically and pretend you know.
Hey tourist, they are all african descendants so most likely won't appeal to the large majority of gamers and 40k players that happen to be white males.
lmao even
Yeah, okay. You go ahead and stand around holding that pearl.
I would also love to see Blood Ravens, they did also come to help titus in SM1.
Yep they have a stable geneseed and an endless number of successor chapters that have their own personality etc. Imperial Fists also have a stable geneseed, but I guess it's easier to market the colour blue than yellow for supersoldiers. Not that there's anything wrong with yellow, IF are great.
Because they are the only chapter who openly insulted Girlyman before Ultramarines and walked away.
Also the same chapter who, while severely withered and undermaned from protracted campaigns, was able to smash some Imperial Fists faces on Terra when unknowingly participated in a coup against Girlyman. And they were awarded for that by Guilliman, becoming one of the first chapters to get primaris reinforcements.
They are only loyal to the Imperium and mankind. Not some distant primarch. And that makes them kind of unique too.
