Will i get banned if i use mods?

I want to use a mod to change my characters armor into mark 3 armor

Mods can/will corrupt the "vanilla" versions of SM2 in public games, so public lobbies are no-go, but mods are officially sanctioned for private matches.

Are you installing the Astartes Overhaul mod?

ive never installed mods before but im planning on looking for some if its not to tedious

ignore the nonsense about corrupted save files. that was debunked months ago.

mods will not corrupt anyone elses saves.

mods work online, and the devs prefer you only use them offline, but most people do whatever they want because the devs wont be banning people for using mods so we see them regularly.

I wouldn't trust this guy, op. He doesn't have a very good reputation on the forum. Read other people's opinions. I don't know much about mods, but it would be bad if you got banned just because of some incompetent forum troll.

It's not hard to mod this game, unzip/copy and paste. Most mods if not all will come with a detailed description of how to do it, and then they have discussion forums for trouble shooting.

ALWAYS back up any file your about to overwrite, or you can install the mod and then just run a verify files via steam to overwrite the mod files.

As others point out you can only play with mods in private games.

this is absolutely correct about corrupted save files being nonsense. it was a lie made up by people crying that modders could use cosmetics without paying for them and other whiners

but, I thought the devs stance was that you have to use mods in private games, not offline mode

private mode being not using in game matchmaking, and offline being fully offline with no other players

sorry if this sounds like splitting hairs.

regardless, i havent seen any mods in matchmaking since the last patch, and when i am playing with any mods installed on my game it forces me into private mode, so i can only get groups on discord
