Is Sniper class in PVE good?
Hi all, I've 2 main classes:
Tactical and Sniper at level 12 each.
Then, when I play as Tactical I can do lot for help my team, and I've lot o weapons to survive and kill both elites and crowd control...
But when I play as Sniper the game became too much hard and frustrating...
With sniper gun I've no ammo to kill lot of enemies and I've no weapons to take down 13-14 Hormagaunt, I need to run, when I take Bolt carbine I can do a lot of crowd control but I take too much time to kill 2 Tyranids warriors for example...
So, is Sniper very bad or I've not understood it?

Comparing Tactical and Sniper is like comparing a nuke to a knife. Of course the most OP class is going to make something that's a specialist seem weak. The key to playing a good sniper isn't that you're the main character, you're fire support. You're not trying to take kills yourself, you're setting them up. Get good with your headshots, and leave Majors ready for execute for teammates that are closer. If you start getting harassed, cloak and run to the team for support. A good sniper wipes Majors out of the fight before anyone else can, and leaves them prepped to let the melee and closer-range classes get some armour back with executes.

You purge elites with las fusil, and let your teammates cc the trash. Or you can do it yourself using secondary weapon or even melee, but again, you role is to nuke big bads.
Sniper is the best at quickly downing majoris enemies, as for the mobs, you have your pistol and knife.

Use your cloak to de aggro all the enemies off of you.

Little bit column A and column B. It is also important to remember that many of the Classes don't come online until you are max level with the Class and have a Relic grade weapon with all perks unlocked.

Weapon and Class perks can make a huge difference for classes and Sniper is one of them.

That being said, for the Sniper it is important to remember: You are Support. Your job is to use the primary weapon to turn high threat enemies into executables for your teammates. You don't kill them.

And you use your Pistol to snipe small fry shooters (Termagaunts and Humans). You use your cloak to do objectives and revive teammates... that is until you are fully leveled and have all the proper perks.. at which point, once you understand the mechanics of your Class your ammo worries should start to disappear... and you will take a much more active role in the game.

But while you level, you will be ammo starved and need to be selective with your most valuable ammo pool.

The Sniper has a HUGE gap from being bad/mediocore to being REALLY good, if you are into investing a lot of hours into him and master how the Las perks co-op with the character's perks and how stealth being abused and works, then you 'll eventually become untouchable, top dpser and very confident against anything!
But as I said this requires a lot of reseach on how the character works and tons of playtime on him.
Check Twitch for playstyle and youtube for general info.

P.S. You NEVER run to teamates, quite the opposite, you work solo, and you maintain distance from the rest.
When you cloak you want the mobs to run away from you, to the others, that way you keep em busy running and you can shoot em from behind.
If you are close with the rest, those mobs are going nowhere and you have beasically wasted stealth.
P.S.2: HUGE tip: the faster you break stealth (by shooting) the smaller the cd, thats the cornerstone of the Sniper playstyle, you WANT to break stealth almost instantly!

So Snipers are among the harder hitters in the early game. You can kill most Majoris enemies on the lowest difficulty (you should be playing this until you hit T2 on your main guns) with a headshot.

Just upgrade your build around around headshot damage and you'll basically pop everything in one.

In my experience, there is too little ammo (or the damage each shot does is too small) for the Sniper class to pull its weight. Whether I bring the Lascannon, bolt sniper rifle, or Stalker, I end up using the pistol and knife most of the time, which is not why I play a sniper class.

I've decided the Tactical is a better sniper than the Sniper because it's special acts as a dmg multiplier for the WHOLE team, on multiple attacks, of any type, and it has another perk to regen ammo on Majoris kill, and it can often one-shot the first Majoris/Extremis it Auspexes with a headshot from almost any weapon.

In addition to being a better sniper than the Sniper, it also has 50% more armor than the Sniper and access to a much wider range of weapons if ever you don't want to play the team sniper/boss killer role anymore.

Can confirm. The only reliable way to play sniper is to camp out by ammo and let your team move ahead. Snipe every majoris from your camp by the ammo crate, and stealth if anything more than a couple weak nids spot you. Trying to brawl like everyone else will just make them laugh as you are chased around the room by a pack of minoris because you will die if you try to fight back. Knife CAN be used for stealth-fueled backstabs, but it is FAR weaker than simply headshotting from far away.
#1 Thing for Sniper to do is eliminate enemies from calling in reinforcements with your las fuil. It doesn't have enough ammo to use it on every enemy, so priority targets are key.

When not taking out those, you gotta rely on your pistol and knife to defend yourself. Don't use your Invis to screw over your teammates, use it save them when they're down.

Overall it's the 2nd weakest class with Assault being the weakest. Heavy, Vanguard, Bulwark and Tactical are all pretty OP in comparison to those 2.

yes all classes are good

Ultimately this. It needs to be said and repeated that every class in the game is basically a monster that needs a little work.
I will admit, compared to the other classes, sniper is a bit of a late bloomer.

People who say that the Sniper is low or weak or or or... have definitely ultra low xp on that class and they mainly judge from the typical sniper they find around, who just lvlvs up the class to 25 and the Las to relic as they did.

It is a class that needs research, effort and good knoweldge of its mechanics.
He is NOT a Vanguard with a melta or a Tactical with a (broken) grenade launcher, where everyone can do -at least- some dmg no matter the xp they have on them.

Once someone acquires knowledge and serious xp on the Sniper, he becomes THE beast of this game.
I can't count how many times I 've seen the warning "last brother standing" as a Sniper in my career and how many wipes I 've saved as a Sniper, no matter what classes the rest are.

Research, train and min-max lads,
the Sniper is THE GOAT.-

If you don't plan to spend time on him, go play melta / grenade launcher, the Sniper needs huge amounts of time!

It is nice to see another sniper brother, Those will wonder why the mission went so smoothly, as every zoe that shows up is killed in moments.

Sniper will not have the most kills or most damage, but that is not the point. Sniper can have half the kills of the heavy, yet have around the same ranged damage score.

A reason sniper feels bad is due to the slow cooldown on cloak, one you get the cooldown on headshot kill perk, the class truly shines.

Bolt sniper rifle is the best tool for single target while the las fusil can melt hordes, i prefer the bolt sniper rifle myself, as i like the snappiness of it.

I look forward to using the Salamander champion skin on him.

Yea, they wonder as you said how the ♥♥♥♥ it went so smooth, and then they think they carried that! ;D
Amazing how people are expressing strong negative opinions about the the Sniper when they don't know the stealth mechanics and how his ammo maintainance works!

I really wonder, have they never noticed that the Las has:
- +40% ammo perks, (starts with 28 shots!)
- regens 1 ammo if you kill 2 enemies with the same shot! (class perk 20 - "Lethal Efficiency") you can basically SPAM swarms for FREE and top dmg AND kills, needless to say that this "spam" instantly regens stealth!
- regens 25% ammo, if you drop bellow 30% hp,
- you heal with 3 kills, you drop again on hp, again 25% ammo regen...
I guess they 've never managed to understand how these things work but they are like: "yea sniper needs to hug the ammo box"! ;P

I mean, I 'm barely using my pistol, and I 'm literally spamming Las! ;P
Anyway, always good to hear from Snipers with xp, they all know how much the class is carrying!
The only real challenge for the Sniper nowadays is to finish a lethal run with 0 dmg taken! ;P
