Please make Vanguard viable again
I'm not sure if anyone else who likes playing Vanguard notices this or if it's just me or a skill issue with me or even if anyone else has already said this, but on the higher difficulties that are arguably much more fun to play with the 6.0 update, the Vanguard class barely has any suitability due to its low armor class and the nerf to its perk "adrenaline rush" combined with the fact his whole shtick is melee combat and up close engagements and the fact that on the higher difficulties, enemies will chew through your health and armor faster than you can get that execution/melee kill on a majoris enemy, Vanguard is barely playable on difficulties outside of normal thanks to how little health you get in return. Hopefully if the dev's sees this post, they can revert the changes on the perk back to 10% because the amount of health the perk gives for a melee kill/execution compared to how much damage the enemy will deal to you and how long it takes to get them on a finisher was reasonable compared to the 5% health that just makes the Vanguard class more susceptible to dying than even the Sniper class, who at least has his cloaking device to help him out of a pinch.

I main vanguard and I couldnt disagree more. I can sit in the frontlines on absolute and hold the line easily with the heals i receive from my perks. the melta works wonders for clearing groups and stunning majoris.

try to lean into the melee as much as possible. i use a chainsword.

And Unmatched Zeal turns every Extremis and Terminus into a Medkit since they buffed it´s health regen up to 30%.

I replaced Adrenaline Rush with Tactical Prowess + Zone of Impact since then.

yep, and theres a lot of extremis running around in absolute.
would it be as effective on the missions that have the Thousand Sons?

yes there are plenty of termis to kill
I main Vanguard because I like to be in the middle of the mess slicing and dicing. Although they did make changes that sucked, the unmatched zeal team perk is awesome.

The only thing Vanguard need is a clear visual indicator that the enemies are up for his grapllin execute at 30% HP for that one perk (cba check the name).
Other than that, the class is perfectly fine.

Vanguard is complete close range and cc madness, besides the "block" Thunderhammer Assault the class that i enjoy the most :SM2imperialfists:.

The vanguard is not that mechanically challenging either, stop spamming half of your melta ammo on pointless minoris packs and you should be fine brother, dont panic.

The reset hook build with double aeo damage is borderline broken atm. on absolute and does an insane amount of damage +30% extremis heal.
He got even stronger with this patch.

take unmatched zeal and combat readiness (to compensate for not using inner fire if you need to), your "problem" is solved instantly

adrenaline rush stacks with unmatched zeal so you get a 35% health return on an extremis+ execute which is literally the same amount of health a stim use returns

take melta or occulus bolter to make sure youre getting as much contested health back as possible and youre good to go

Vast majority play with randoms. You play in a premade with full comms. That's like playing on absolute feel like substantial at hardest. Scream into the mic for the flag with your health is low. I wonder if you even know things like how to rotate the islands or you just let your group do it. Opinion discarded.

OP play lethal+ to get extremis enemies to heal up from. Also executable state lasts only a couple of seconds so no one will blame you for hoovering up executions.

Your armour isn't supposed to last, you're supposed to execute then fight with contested health. If you're using melta, be extra careful when you or your team mates have wiped out most of the group, because you can just heal contested with blasting melta at a few of them.

You can try the alternative playstyle to see if it suits - occulus and chainsword. Stand further away and get headshots. That way you're exposed to less damage. Plus it's quite a strong weapon on headshots and can regain contested quite quickly. Use the CS to deal with hordes.

Substantial and ruthless are not that hard, and you should be able to clear with all classes, so if you can't, you're missing some fundamental. I can't tell you what it is without seeing you play, but you should be able to survive on ruthless with common weapons and a couple of stims. Stop relying on healing with abilities or play a class without healing like heavy or tactical.

i play all classes and dominate in both pve and pvp. i could care less if some people think playing with friends is easier than playing with solos. i usually play video games with my friends.

for giggles, i did a decapitation solo with randoms this afternoon on absolute. only one of them went down, and i blame myself for not babysitting them with a standard lol

Vanguard is the best class... sounds like a skill issue

Yeah and one shot with melta basically restores all contested health
