The new operation was... meh.
I was away for about a week with PoE2 lol, but when I heard the new update came out, I had to come back and kill some heretics...

I just played it once, so I can't say if it is just a fluke. I did it in ruthless.

Everyone in team maybe had around 100-120 kills. Absolute lackluster compare to other missions averaging 300+ kills per member.

Frankly, all I remember from this mission was just walking in the dark cave. No spectacles, no climax, nothing.

I didn't even realize I was at the end of operation until victory screen popped up. The boss? Sorcerer you've been killing all this time, with addition of some purple orbs to pop. That's like having an operation with a lictor as your final boss.

Maybe they are trying to shorten the missions so it is more efficiently farmed? But... I've maxed out everything already. Farming efficiency isn't what I was looking forward to when new operation is coming out.

Oh, and i fought the new enemy twice the whole mission. I can't even properly evaluate them with what little I saw... but i have my doubts.

Teleporting enemies are already making chaos less enjoyable to fight, now we have a flying goblin zipping around.

I think what chaos needed was more grounded, melee oriented enemy that will add to dynamic of battle. Chaos is just too range oriented with not good way to gain armor back, making aggressive playstyle very difficult to sustain. This enemy does not quite scratch that itch IMO.

Again, i could be very wrong having only played once, but i doubt this will make people enjoy fighting chaos moving forward..

I see this as a farming mission since it’s so easy.
They seriously need to add a cool down to enemy evasive moves like teleport, dodge etc. There should be at least a 3 second window where we can get shots in. Enemies constantly diving about is not a fun mechanic. It just makes fighting them frustrating.

Agree was meh. Glad they're at least adding enemy types each time.

Wish they would bring the campaign levels over as well to add a little more.

After playing Astartes mod it is disappointing the amount of content we are getting with developers. Mission variety is great in the mod. Theres a mod now where missions will flip Chaos and Tyranid enemies in mission, which adds some nice variety.

The only spectacle of this mission is the almost always bad mechanic of "players can't see." Paired with the AI not having any reduction in accuracy, especially as the faction that emphasizes ranged damage, it's just not fun.

Had a Ruthless run where the person holding the Chalice quit/dc in the middle of a massive wave. Then the Bulwark that joined spawns in and immediately leaves. That sucks enough already, but when there are also 4 Rubric Marines standing on a ledge that I can barely see taking potshots for the entire wave, it quickly goes from annoying to infuriating. I was literally hiding behind a jagged edge of a rock to take cover from those Rubrics to wait for armor to regen before popping out to try and get some damage in while my teammate waited to respawn.

I'm going to actively avoid this mission if it's not with friends. It's just not a good mission.

As for the new Enlightened Tzaangors, they need work. They jump around entirely too much. They repeatedly dodge when you shoot them, they jump around with almost every attack, and they're by far the fastest enemy in the game. Best of all, they seem to always spawn in pairs, and if both of them decide to target the same person, it's way to easy to not be able to do anything because you have to mash dodge or you're getting hit.

Yeah... I will give it another shot soon prob in lethal and see if just had a fluke.

It's kind of the let down. Short, uninteresting scenery, they wanted chalice part to be something else but it's just annoying, same for floating chunks of path. Lack of anything epic, boss is just regular sorcerer. It feels lazy.

this is one of the biggest reasons chaos ain't fun to fight specially as melee focused class.
and the flamer guy doing non-blockable aoe atacks as soon as you get in melee range.

100% right, but have you considered that it's important to ban people for changing the garbage FOV for no reason whatsoever? Priorities.

I think the reason why it was such a let down is because I went to it with a hype that this change could possible make chaos mission more enjoyable and have people play them.

It wasn't just one operation I had my hope for, it was all 4 chaos operation the half of operations pool.

I was really hoping for a memorable chaos boss fight compare to what we have...

Hell drake (match puzzle), demon host (capture the flag), and battery train (track puzzle) are all so anti climatic, and now we got this sorcerer fight (shoot the orb).
My group was defeated by the endless chaos spam at the final boss.

The op was probably done in a hurry. boring, short, nothing new. i think they're done supporting this game.
That's what happens when you have to fight the most unsatisfying-annoying-cheap-enemies in any PvE game I've ever played. They literally couldn't have made Chaos worse if they purposely tried to I swear to God. Not to mention it's literally a recycled campaign mission, thus why weren't these all in the game to begin with? So now we just have drip-fed content that should've already been in the base game to look "forward to", aside some cosmetics and a Horde Mode that's coming in like ****ing Spring or Summer that should've launched with the vanilla game?
