Framerate still the same with FSR3/DLSS3 update, also devs please optimize your game!
See zero performance upgrade with the fsr3/dlss3 addition, have all my settings set to medium-ish at 1080p FSR3 native on my 7800XT and 5800X3D and it still dips in fps to the 60s (trying to keep the game at 90+). Drivers are up to date too. Fix your game for the love of god, theres no reason my 7800XT ad 5800X3D should be going that low on medium settings with FSR3, ive even seen it dip as low as the high 30s for a bit which is ridiculous

Edit: I dont use framegeneration so performance will be better with it enabled ofc, but theres something wrong with the upscaling being used. Also tried testing the game on all low settings vs all high and the framerate remains the same with gpu usage going down slightly.

So i'm not the only one... turned off frame gen just to compare and got exactly the same FPS (tried with both FSR and DLSS)

Yeah without framegen on, the performance is still the same as FSR2/DlSS and even TAA from what I was able to test
I can't see any difference neither.

Yes, I just came across it. There are FPS drops, it instantly drops by 2 times. When the frame gen is on. I am using x3d. The game is still problematic.

This might either be an AMD or a windows configuration issue.

Played Intro + chapter 1 with framegen, steady 120 fps with almost 0 drops, only some 108 here and there.

Then started an operation to see how online affects performance, steady 120 with a scout for the first mission until a bulwark joined with Dark Angel skin, reducing fps tu 100-110 when his sword was charged. So definitely working for my 10700kf + 4070Ti

Did you try to get Hardware Accelerated GPU Scheduling on ? I've read some threads mentionning that. Some people then complained about stuttering I couldn't notice. Maybe something to do with loading stuttering more intensive this way, leading to stutter when RAM or SSD can't catch up.

Anyway, not saying you're lying or doing something wrong. Just here to say "it works on my end even though my CPU is kinda old, I know the game is kinda spaghetti coding and that some user get serious unsolvable problems". Hope that HAGS may help.

Also for anyone reading : Below 16Gb VRAM, do not go for 4k texture pack, this is doomed. I'm not using it, playing QHD with 12Gb, this might in some extent explain your problem if you have it on.

Performance has been really good for me so far. Keeping my fingers crossed.

The issue is on your side.

The only problem to this is that youre using framegen which automatically boosts your framerate by a ton, which is fine I just personally dont use it. Trying to get down if other people are noticing the upscaling issue like I am. I run the game at medium ish settings 1080p FSR3 native and its the same performance as it is with TAA enabled which apparently uses FSR1 which does not make any sense.

Not sure about Hardware Accelerated GPU Scheduling, but I do have Smart Access Memory enabled and a slight overclock on my GPU enabled so theres definitely some issue on the games side. All of my other games run completely fine and it sounds like other people are noticing something is wrong with the upscaling as well

Man, my frame rate with my i5 13400f, RTX 4070 super, 32GB ram Ddr4 3200mhz are 70fps average in 1440 with only normal Dlss....if i turn on Dlss 3 Frame Gen my frame rate goes to 130 fps average. So, frame gen works nice.

No, play for a while longer. While playing with frame gen in pvp clashes, sometimes there were fps drops half and half. It doesn't work very well.

My apologies ! Given that the main feature going with DLSS 3 is Frame Gen, I thought you were having trouble with it as some player reported they had issue getting the usual double framerate.

From what I can tell, you're right, DLSS 3 isn't a big performance increase however, and this is strictly personnal, I find it a lot more sharper and accurate than before visually speaking.

I can run with quality DLSS or native with so little differences it's sometime hard to know which test screen is what.
With previous versions, even though I didn't had purchased the game, there where a lot of (legit) blurry image complaints.

To get more specific informations, I suggest you get the rivatuner osd and see how your hardware reacts to dlss.
For instance, even though my framerate was similar between native and DLSS, temps and power usage and charge for the GPU went down by a lot.
For me this is a clear benefit : i leave more room for moneyshot fights where GPU pray not to become prometheum.
Hope this will somehow help !

Yeah, I appreciate you trying to help for sure, this game just makes no sense when it comes to optimization sometimes lol. I even tested running the game settings on all low vs all high and the performance remains the same while GPU usage lowers and cpu usage stays the same as well. Super weird. Just glad im not the only one noticing how poor the optimization is and if FSR3 even works lol

Check your hardware accelerated gpu scheduling setting in Windows. If it's turned off - DLSS 3 will NOT work. Not sure about FSR3.

Has to be some issue on your end.
5.0 runs pretty smoothly with some rare framespikes here and there.(New Operation not that smooth as expected, but still ok)

DLSS was working all the time, like FG is working now if people choose to use it.
Im running around with 120 to 240 FPS on Ultra with the 4K Texture Pack. Inpputlag with FG enabled seems ok too.

So i dont know what people are thinking a new patch should bring to the table in terms of performance.
I run a Intel/Nvidia combo on an AMD sponsered titel completly fine, so there must be people running around with some pretty bloated and badly configurated systems, its not the engine itself.

Yes it not the best in terms of visual quality and FPS, but it is not that bad either.

If you find other incompetent pc gamers on forums or reddit doesn't solve or mean anything, if you have a decent system thats configured correctly the swarm engine does really well, considering how much detail there is and how much is going on somtimes.
Jorge666 Dec 12, 2024 @ 3:28am
Stupid question but how do you know if you have the 4k texture pack downloaded or being used? I play at 1440 anyway so will that not even be an issue?
