Is anyone else having problem with parrying after patch 5.0?
I'm having a much harder time parrying with the same build I've been using for weeks, I'm missing more than half parries when i used to almost not miss any,
I posted a thread before thinking this is from the stagger radius change but now I think its a bug or a sneaky change to the parrying mechanics that the devs made without disclosing, I asked a few randoms I was playing with and they said they're having a similar experience, is anyone else having the same problem?

Im gonna let as many people as possible know so forgive me if I seem like a broken record

Think it's a bit off at the moment as you can be in parry stance and still take a hit. I've noticed it really only happens if you are a bit late or early on timing and miss one block, your follow up parry will not register and you just take the hits as if you didn't hit anything.

Even hitting the parry button multiple times afterwards will not change this state, so you can no longer miss a parry into another parry attempt but you will still do the animation.

Before this with fencing i'd say it was damn near impossible to miss time a parry so this seems a they'd want to mention it in the patch notes if it was on purpose, hence why I think it's unintentional, but I guess we'll see.
Also just looks funky when the smaller guys jump at you and you're just swinging your weapon around but it does nothing.

Your best bet is if you notice attacks going through your parry to start dodging.

Yeah you just look goofy as hell parrying the air and still getting hit, I decided to stop playing the game until they fix it because I like to have fun when I play instead of anger and frustration

Not only that. After 5 minutes of playing the mouse stops working. It's there in menus but does nothing in-game.

Yeah, it's definitely super frustrating because fencing was in a really good spot imo and super fun.

I can't blame anyone for stepping away until this is explained, because one hit could cost you the run in this game with the stunlock on some bigger waves.

This is quite prevalent, you need to quickly tab out and back into the game to recover the mouse. Not seen a permanent solution to the issue so may be with us for a while till they finish with our beta testing of this patch...

just experienced the fencing weapon parry not the same its definitely off its exactly how i use balance weapon before i got relic fencing hammer.
Tested just now parry early as always but got hit by 4 warriors and continue to parry missed again and continue and i thought i doing something wrong continue until the end of the mission.
The parry window exactly same as balance weapon otherwise the early parry should parry eveything instead of getting smack right and left

Q and C button cannot be changed because they are hardcoded. That is why you are having problems blocking and your ability is randomly being used.
FurstyFerret Dec 10, 2024 @ 8:00am
Noticed the same, played no differently same setup, it just felt worse. Moving the goalposts to make balanced and block look better... Not a fan.
MetsaSketch Dec 10, 2024 @ 8:26am
Yep, just played my first game, multiple instances of parries clearly doing nothing but playing the animation. Also, the visuals seem way worse to me now with new fsr, way more distortion, shimmer and blur it looks terrible now.

appreciate this

All my info was coming off my just trying out different situations, nice to see some actual concrete info.

honestly even if it's not as big of a window, I do hope they add some of that bonus back.
Kinda makes me wonder why you'd even bother with fencing over balanced now. Much better ways to make other options more appealing than gutting the best part about that particular style.

No wonder why my bulwark matches feel so off. Hopefully this is a mistake and not an actual change.
