if no such option, rely on heavy bolt pistol.
heavy pistol is in lore assigned to assault squads. giving it to other classes kinda killed the need for weak bolt pistol.
bolt pistol would need drum mag + scope options (basically Spectris Pattern) to be any use.
Wonder if devs would do anything though. As one of the reply mentioned it is probably just there for lore (which is now also not followed as per who should have access to HBP making it absolute).
The Heavy pistol is too slow and basically to what my HBR already do, while the standard pistol is faster which complete the build.
I dont even see a way for a comeback. The only advantage it had over the HBP was more ammo and even that isnt really a concern anymore, since the HBP has more than enough ammo now. There is just no role for the Bolt Pistol to shine in. Should be deleted from the game, imo.
Same, I prefer the regular Bolt Pistol on Tactical.
It fires a lot quicker, has more clip size for dealing with cultists; and just feels better to use than the Heavy.
I wouldn't be surprised if it output more DPS in the short term as well, given the Heavies slow firing speed and small clip; but we don't have great numbers in game to do the math on that.

BP only has better body-shot DPS. So kinda better if you want to quickly shoot cultists as you mentioned and probably better in a hord of minories at close quarters, but Tactical has block-CS that goes BRRR and solves that issue.
Guns often have a perk that gives +10% damage, and then another perk that gives +10% head shot damage.
But..isn't a flat +10% to all damage just inherently better than just +10% to headshots? Wouldn't the flat +10% to all damage make your headshots do more as well? Is there some nuance to this I'm not understanding? Does that flat damage bonus NOT work on headshots?
From a common sense perspective I would expect the flat damage increase to be less than the head shot specific one. Like +5% flat damage vs. +10% head shot damage.
