Inferno Pistol does not gain any XP after completing Operations missions

After completing multiple Operations missions while using the Inferno Pistol, I noticed that the weapon does not gain any XP. The mission completion screen shows successful progression, but the XP bar for the Inferno Pistol remains unchanged.

Did you at least get one enemy kill with the pistol? Even minoris kills will be counted for full operations XP.

Yes, I eliminated a significant number of Tyranids with that weapon

Looks like the server messed up again. Luckily I've maxed out this pistol.

Hey, you were right! I gave up the mission during an operation on purpose, and after that, XP started working again. Really appreciate the tip.
