How can I solo Lethal and absolute for Tactical class? (Vanilla Only)
I am pretty good at the game and love a brutal fair challenge. But often times Melee being the one thing keeping me alive often leads to my death. For Tyranids it's understandable but for Chaos.. This issue is more clear as they have more ranged variants that can gun you down. (Can apply to Ruthless)

How does me? A Tactical main stay alive without dying in situations where Melee isn't an option anymore but that's the very thing that will have me not die? I don't prefer melee but I still make use of it well enough to try sustain myself. Executions are somewhat good at keeping me safe but more often it gives enemies time to swarm or shoot at you then finish you off from Mortal Wounds.

These issues are not present in online play since you can just die and respawn if any players are alive. I have beaten Lethal on some levels before but that was with so much dodge cheese that I literally stopped doing those things and play as intended.

I cannot for the life of me see solutions without cheese or changing classes. Lowering the difficulty would just ignore the problem more than notice it, Should I just give up trying to attempt higher difficulties Ruthless and above? Feel free to give opinions and criticisms.

just keep practicing. if solo you may need to use tactics like pulling back to funnel.

also, melee will always be an option regardless of class.

This guy runs solo without bots. Here's one of the tactical runs on chaos. His videos are pretty good.

Not too crazy on dodges. Even in melee he still seems to be shooting. Using my favorite gun. What I notice that's keeping him alive is shooting for contested HP more often than melee and executions. My mistake is having contested HP recovery relying from mostly melee and executions. Used to think shooting wasn't good enough for that sort of thing. I am gonna practice what he is doing and see if I survive longer. x'D
I recently learned that the perk that marks an enemy with auspex on a successful parry or block is a HUGE benefit.

Take Precise Calibration to get the extra +75% damage from the scan too and go to town blocking and killing stuff.
Good news, survival rate is increased dramatically.
Bad news? Helbrutes will probably still curb stomp me-

I knew I was playing the game right yet felt like I was missing something for a good while. Tried the build and it works, Helped me find a balance between both melee and shooting while still mainly shooting at the same time.
