Bolt Carbine are waaaaaay stronger than ABR. Have you try Sniper with CQC build? Tactical parry Auspex, then brrrrr headshot?
It destroy everything.
Haha yeah same experienced as well. My first build too. Later change to Melta gun and become my go to, except in Reliquary because of Helldrake. Though I hate the fact is that my favorite gun is the lowest rank compare to other weapons.
Both are on opposite side of the spectrum of range/sustain damage.
Both are good, but you can't say one is better than the other.
It's literally apple to oranges.
The auto bolt rifle is my favorite weapon for tactical for the style I like to play the class with. Most people are using the ABR not suited to what it is good at then wonder why it is not performing. I think people are familiar with it that are in to the lore so they expect it to behave a certain way. In SM2 though it is setup to be more like an smg with some ranged capabilities like a rifle. For tactical I like to get in to the pack and melee mostly. The ABR has good rate of fire, really good hipfire accuracy, quick reloads, good clip size, good ammo pool. some piercing to handle swarms, and you can still shoot at long range targets effectively. On lethal or absolute you'll end up with the same kills and overall damage you would get if you ran almost any other weapon just with the ABR it would be melee + ranged where if you went with say the plasma it would be mostly ranged damage.
The ABR fits really well into a run and gun melee style and helps enable it. While fighting you can hipfire anything short to medium range and never need to stop or aim down sights. At the same time it also gives you the ability to still hit long range targets that need taken out. BIovore trying to hide somewhere or zoanthrope off in the distance or majoris on the other side of the battle trying to call in reinforcements.
That's if I understand correctly. If that's the case, then I think it will really show a significant difference when fighting zoanthropes and nuerothropes, ya know cuz their heads are huge. I don't see this as anything other than a buff. If you're already in the habit of making those head-shots then this will be nice IMO.
That's a nice buff for it. It was already super easy to hipfire headshots with it before when in the mix. With that buff it will be popping heads left and right.
Between those two, Bolt Carbine still fair better thank to high-rate of fire with 30% flat headshots damage boost plus another 20% overall damages after maxing out. Because of this, I could cut a huge chuck of Terminus health continuously. ABR on the other hand feel like an handicapped letting all my melee weapon do all the hard work and I have to worry about my perk active time end.
Yeah, certainly design for killing minoris, but if you're fighting Tyranids you most likely going to aim at Majoris when they're around.
I want chunky sounding bolters again....like in Firewarrior.
