My money is in the final ops released we will be fighting chaos for 4/5 stages and in the final part we get a taste of necron and we'll be fighting necrons as the main opposing force in SM3

When Space Marine 3 comes out in 2035.

killing chaos enemies (rubrics) filled with pixie dust is boring as it is, necrons will be so much worse as they just phase out and disappear -.-

would rather sport with tau, eldar or good ol' fashion orks.

I mean, do you think the fun of combating a thing is how much blood they squirt at the end?

Honestly, not trying to be a ♥♥♥♥, not a fan of Chaos in this game myself but that is more do to thing extra ranged, shield guys everywhere, and WAY to many flying disc guys for my taste. I am genuinely slightly confused by your take here.

You want a hard pill to swallow?

Never.
This game will never get any big content released. Ever.
The dev team got moved to saber next game. At best (at the VERY best) they will start to do what they should have from the start for year 2 and repurpose the campaign missions into operations, but that's it.
There won't be any big expansion, new faction, new class or anything of that scale.

Now, let's pretend for a second Sabers actually had plans to make this game a real live service and ensure it will get a lot of content post release. Even in that case, necron wouldn't have worked with the kind of gameplay SM2 has.

It's a horde hack and slash with a side of shooting. Necrons are mostly about shooting and lack any "horde melee chaff" to throw at you (they could use flayed ones, but that would be very clunky and unnatural). The thousand sons got away with it by heavily relying on the Tzangors as melee chaff.

What they could, and should do tho, is simply bringing back the Orks. The whole franchise was built on the back of that faction with SM1, and they'll work very nicely in SM2.

But as I said, that's never going to happen so... here's that.
Rubric Marines: don't talk, don't bleed, mostly ranged, annoying af teleporting around, resurrecting
Necrons: don't talk, don't bleed, mostly ranged, annoying af teleporting around, resurrecting

Yeah we really need more of that. After all, Chaos maps are so successful, eh? :)

Agree. The whole fighting system is built upon an enemy that wants to engage in melee. So Orks would be great , Chaos factions that prefer close quarter like Night lords, But honestly the Tyranids are just perfect. I wouldnt mind if the next game also heavily focuses on them. They can introduce new monster types . Its just such a fun faction.

Also the Rubricae are just not very good animated. It fits the lore about them but makes it less interesting engaging them.

Pft, NIGHT LORDS as an enemy? come on
Tbh the closest I can see is a construct. Have an operation in the tombs, go in, and eventually fight a Canoptek Tombstalker as the end boss. Hell, could make it so you're escorting a Dreadnought again and you help it take it down.
Necro'nt

maybe play as a dreadnought like a solo mission? sort of like see how long you can survive

Maybe? That'd actually be really fun. Not sure how they'd do it so I'm spitballing here but hear me out. One player gets selected to be the Dreadnought, and the other two get to do supporting actions that are actually required, that the Dreadnought can't do. Such as setting off charges to distract/weaken the Construct, drawing its fire, all that jazz

more than likely SM3, dont really see them adding an entirely new faction to this game when they've already shown interest in making a sequel.

In this game? Never. In space marine 3 assuming it's going to be made? Still not likely, as Necrons in the lore are stupid OP and can merc a space marine without trying because their standard weapon is the annihilator beam. Their tech is so advanced that the imperium simply can't comprehend it. It's like showing a caveman a computer and expecting him to understand or how he might have a spear but you have a predator missile. The only Necrons space marines have managed to kill is rank and file mindless fodder. Unless they accept help from the Eldari who can actually effectively fight Necrons, they are cooked.
