Iron Halo Not Working Since Last Update
Since the latest update, the activation of Heavy's Iron Halo is just broken. While before you could activate it while running, shooting, etc. now it seems unless you are standing still and doing nothing, it won't work.

While before I was able to pull off last second activations to stop sniper shots and other stuff, now I find myself spamming the ability button 5 times and still not having it activate.


Have others already reported this bug in the Focus Entertainment Forums or is this supposed to be "correct" way by new design?

Yup, I don't know if that is a bug or it was intentional but I prefer being able to activate the shield on the run. Heavies are already very slow, when you are in the heavy stance mode, you can't roll, you need to leave the stance first - that is how you lose precious mili seconds. I got used to that and I will get used to activating iron halo only when stationary but it's not helping.

100% Everything said here also happens to me and it's beyond ridiculous at this point. I don't know if they're aware of it.

Hmm, as plasma heavy, i've found only that it's can be difficult to turn off... Maybe because i'm almost never take stance?

In pvp taking stance expecially with heavy plasma is necessary, without it you shoot much slower and with less damage. I only take heavy plasma unstanced shots in emergency close range situations but even then I try to get into stance as fast as I can.

haha...i came back to game and thought my heavy was bugged cause i couldn't get iron halo to work...turns out had to stand still to activate it whether you have the perk to make you stand still or not lolol....there are some changes they made to the game or "nerfs" that were just ridiculous and really sucked the fun out of it...there is a difference between difficulty and removing fun and well functioning mechanics from the game for the sake of creating artificial difficulty...the player base keeps dwindling over time because it just gets frustrating...on top of that sometimes when you get hit and not even staggered you can no longer parry the enemy that hit you at all lolol....and look, i'm very very good at timing parries in action combat games...those kinds of games are my niche, i'm good at them, i love them, i have always loved them...yet alas i randomly become unable to parry....sorry, got off on tangent...please continue with iron halo problem lol.

I encountered another problem with the Iron Halo in Operations.
For some reason I can´t manually deactivate it anymore, which is very annoying since I have now wait through the entire reload process instead of 5-10 seconds until it´s ready again.

In pvp you can deactivate it anytime you wish, checked it yesterday. Does it really require less time to cool down when you quickly deactivate it ? I have actually never noticed it :D

For some reason, Iron Halo doesn't activate with my ability key. It reacts with my signal key. Really annoying pressing Q to try to let my teammates know about a stim or whatever, only for it to instead activate/deactivate my Iron Halo.

Erm, have you tried just standing still, turn it on and off? I have problems with turning it off too, but it's mostly at certain conditions(like you get bonked by warrior etc).

There is a solution to that, rebind your ability key to anything else eg -melee, leave the keyboard set up menu, come back and rebind again just as you wish - it's gonna work just normal.

Found the answer to my problem:
Iron Halo can´t be toggled on and off while sprinting.
Otherwhise it works normally outside of being staggered.

I play on Ps5 and I struggle with this as well. I had a pvp build with the multi melta where i could sprint in, tank damage, and pop my iron halo at the last second to get kills. now that gun is entirely unusable. It really feels unfair and I dont use heavy at all anymore.
Are you guys sure it works? Because no matter what I do I can't turn it on whether I'm standing or walking or running or aiming.

For me it worked if I press Q instead of 3.
Problem is now I can't throw nades because i normaly bound them to Q
