Should we listen to Adam's advice? Is he onto something important here? Are gamers like us wholeheartedly welcome in the 40K online community or not? :lunar2020ratinablanket: :p_heart:

I am not the whole community so I can only speak for myself. I think anybody is welcome as long as they respect the community standards and most of all the WH40k lore without trying to change it to their liking. I hope my message was clear enough.

Of course not! Because we are latent f*shists. Tho imho, as it's no longer a nishe community, there is of course weirdos around here, plus not much insentive to "hold hands" of new player. Like you'll get some advises on army composition, etc, but nobody truely intrested in another dude. As gurps GM, i'd say dnd community more welcoming, mainly because it's just comes to mainstream not long ago. And warhammer community already passed this times. Plus there is strong opinions on lore matters and if you posted some trigger words, you can piss somebody to a sky and probably will hear some arguments agains your position and some comments about mothers.
As for video, it's totally moronic about both topics(warhammer and startroppers). As for startroppers it's mostly lorewise (mainly about innocent cute bugs that definatly didn't atack first) and as for warhammer... Oh boy... To unweb all this i don't have time or will to review all the arguments, but basicly main idea about lore been truely fashistic... Well no. He just got some lore from points that didn't contradict his statements and abandon all others. If you wanna indepth review of the exact points, you can watch Arch.
Plus it's quite moronic to put modern views and ideas to fictional univers of neverending war.

Adam's advice? what advice it's this stawman video? no. this is just another sad proxy conflict about woke hammer vs chud hammer politics that only is only meant to drag people into it.

warhammer 40k released in 1987 and is more based off of dune and aliens then starship troupers. the starship troupers the book was released in 1959 and the move was released in 1997. dune what 40k is based on is about the calibration and growth of human thought.
-----------------------------------------
so if you make dune grim/dark and edgy with teen angst you get a scifi story about humanity after its fall and mental growth from an ai uprising and a monarchy that wants people to regain that growth, expression, in a the celebration through the imperial truth, then have the leader who is an atheist fall into in a vegetative state helpless as, his monarchy turn into a clerical fascism that bans freedom of though and expression with the only allows blind servitude through the worshiping of the catatonic monarch and calibrates death so that even after you die you can serve him as a servo skull of a servitor. the theme of 40k is about the horror blind servitude not the alt right.

turning that into third right politics very misleading and misrepresents the franchise as a whole and missed what its about. the emperor is closer to King Edward the eighth then the a Mussolini or a Stalin

Why do people feel the need to Pigeon hole themselves?

What is a "non-conforming PC gamer" or "gamers like us" and even though I posed the question I dont really care.

Can you play the game or not, I care not for you personally nor how you want to label yourself, past the point off, are you going to get the squad to the end of the mission.

If your desperate for a sense of community discord is available.

Isn't Alexander the Great was kinda inspiration for Emperor? So not sure that Edward are good example... With all things Emperor closer to old greeck...

Those are a lot of words in response to someone who is clearly baiting with their privated account that doesn't even own the game. Also yes, Adam has no clue what he's talking about as per usual when he leaves his circle of Elon bashing or thinking he's a civil engineer when it comes to transportation. His formula stays the same though of picking a topic he thinks he can easily cudgel and then crafts a very elaborate straw-man to prove his points.

yes, and no i see what you're doing but if you think on the fact that all of the primarchs are inspired by generals/leaders/myths that in history and all how the primarchs have a little bit of then emperor wouldn't be inspired by just one world leader but it can fit Alexander if add the burning of knowledge centers and allot of future world leaders are inspired by xerxes, he also treated all religious intuitions harshly.

the big part what changes is when Alexander approving a plan to cull the Jewish population for not following his strict rules on religion. the thing we see closest to that is the emperor stomps out the imperial cult but only after lorgar refused the emperor order through malcador to stop the cult repeatedly. the emperor only destroyed the religious intuitions no the people then had lorgar watch as he did it.

No chance I'm watching a 20 minute video of some Youtuber waffling, I'm trying to catch up with Squid Game. I can answer the question of whether the majority of the fanbase agrees with his advice though:

If he's anti-woke and wants to leave the lore alone, he's right.
If he's woke and wants to change the lore, he's wrong.
If he's a fence-sitter or ambivalent, nobody cares.

Smells like bait, looks like bait. Probably bait, regardless
Reals bringing up some interesting points. I personally haven't heard the comparison to Alexander the Great before

The Emperor was literally Alexander the Great in the lore, according to Horus.

Anyway, my father. As I was saying, this was a very long time ago. It’s said he was known then as Alysaundr, or Sikander III ho Makedôn, I believe. He told me that, so it must be true. Anyway, he came to the River Hyphasis and crossed it, and wept, for, as he put it, ‘there were no new worlds to conquer.’

It's the same interpretation Ozymandias has of Alexander the Great in Watchmen, that the goal was to unify humanity through conquest.

everybody is welcome as long as they respect and accept the lore and the world as it is and dont try to force changes for thair own personal liking or if they are activists changes for thair agenda.

Adam Something... You mean the same weirdo with brain damage who claims to be media literate and tried talking about Starship Troopers, but in the end showed that he based his entire view of the movie and book off of a single tweet he found?

Why should anyone watch and listen to someone like that?
