I hven't played it yet but I have seen some gameplay, it doesn't seem to be my cup of tea, maybe it has better WH40k feel to it but...it's not a shooter or even a proper strategy, so it can't fly in my books.
True but is it really easier for you to identify yourself with a character that you play and immerse deeply in WH40k world in DoW than in SM2 ? That's a hard question cos I love DoW too, I put thousands of hours in it...but it's not a shooter again :D However, I'd go as far as to put it on the 1st place ex aequo with SM2.
You mean me ? I have, it's crap, you can't compare it to SM2.
Ok, but have you played the Sisters of Battle VR game?
No but everybody says it is even bigger crap.
It is, but that still makes me a nerdier 40k fan than you; so.. I win right?
Its a very impressive game, I just wish they would have written their texts more focused. There is so much kinda unnecessary bloat that it can turn into a real chore reading all that were it doesnt feel that this actually enhances the narrative or worldbuilding. Have stopped twice because of that.
I would still rate SM2 above in terms of w40k athmosphere because of the brutality esp. of the Tyranids in close combat and the outstanding art and character design.
Regarding the game with best W40k athmosphere I think I still go with Space Marine 1. Sm2 has the better gameplay no doubt, but Sm1 has the better story and a lot better side characters and main villain just how you picture a W40k storyline.
Fair enough.
Win what ? Forums is not about winning anything, the game is, if anything. Besides, I have never considered myself a Wh40k nerd, I love Wh40k, I've been in it for many years, it owns a huge part of my heart but not all. I never cared about knowing everything, every little detail either, that is not neccessary to grasp the soul of the system.
Would be a great time to pick up some of the games mentioned here then.
