single player guy - what now?
hi friends, i finished the campaign. it was decent entertainment.
i am a single player player only :) is it worth continuing with other game modes? which? how?
i usually play for story and rpg mechanics which there were none, so even though now i seem to be able to choose classes, the game doesn't seem to offer much more as i already finished the story. wrong?

The operations are missions that happen during the campaign, you can play them solo or with 2 other people. It´s not really a roleplaying game, altho for me it is as I just enjoy being a SPEHS MAHREEN

Basically what you need to do now is repeat the operations until the Emperor releases you from your duty. You pledged eternal service didn't you?

So, you asking people, should you play multiplayer, while saying you're single player guy?
You should totally play eternal war, join the good fun.

Do the ops, level up the weapons and try all the classes.
The only issue with playing operations solo is that they are nearly impossible to play with how much gets thrown at you and how much chip damage you take. This only gets easier to deal with after you get better gear which takes awhile to get, especially while playing solo.
Astartes Overhaul is a mod that will significantly improve your single player experience in PvE mode. It has a lot of reworks, bot buff and removes all equipment restrictions. If you liked gameplay. I suggest installing it and playing through pve content.

I personally liked it a lot more than campaign even without the mod. But since you pointed out that you only play solo. I don't see the reason to not use Astartes Overhaul
This is why OP you should've waited for a deep sale. Game is way too short for the price tag.

depends on income level of the individual.

i found that the game was well worth the price.

I finished the campaign and moved on to the "Operations" mode, which I think is probably my favorite. I particularly like how each of the various operations are things that happened off screen during the campaign. It makes each one of them feel like a fun callback to something I remember from single player. They definitely add more details to the story.

I played some of the "Eternal War" PvP mode along the way to ranking all my classes up to the level cap in "Operations" and found it oddly less compelling. I still feel that way even though it's all I've been playing of late. I'm surprised at myself because I truly loved the PvP from the original game all those years ago. This one somehow seems... limiting? Like there's not enough variety in loadouts , weapon customizations, etc.? I can't quite put my finger on it, but the whole class level versus veterancy level mechanics seem kind of pointless to me, and the unlocks too few and far between.

I second this, Astartes Overhaul adds a ton of cool stuff.

This was true for me too.. And I dont have income problems.. For me, only interested in a campaign, finished it in a single day, and just cant justify spending the money. Maybe if they intended on adding to the campaign.. But theyve said thats not happening.. So far, all Ive seen is cosmetics.. I thoroughly enjoyed the campaign, but I dont see a replay in the near future.

Potentially silly question: why wouldn't you at least try one of the other modes? I know PvP isn't everybody's bag, but honestly the co-op operations can feel a LOT like the campaign. The whole campaign you've got two AI-powered mates with you "helping" (sometimes more, sometimes less) accomplish various objectives. That's exactly what operations is, only the two aren't AI powered. You might find you like it.

I'm very interested in the promised "horde" mode, or whatever it's called, because that's probably the mode I most played from the original game. And I really thought I'd like PvP more than I do because that was probably my favorite mode in the original. I'm just curious why if you like the campaign that you wouldn't find the operations mode worthwhile. Cheers!

I mean sure, but at the same time this costs about the same (while on sale) as ff7 rebirth Might as well buy that and get more value out of your cash.

Value is subjective. I very rarely buy new games. And Space Marine was worth every penny for me. But ff7 tho ? Not even close to my 40k infested brain
