even got a hook to get in range
thing is im not having a problem actually killing dudes, the problem is just raw attrition. sooner or later we ALWAYS fail at some point and just gets screwed over.
Will make use of advice however and use melta more. i've had no issues with bolter so id have a actual range option for when (not if) ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ flying enemies come about
It's just you, it's one of the best if not the best class in the game. Almost impossible to die. Like you have to be mentally handicapped and missing two arms to do bad with it.
Main vanguard here.
Follow the other players and not the contrary, especially if you play with a shield boi. Play it like some kind of "assassin", picking the same foe as a teammate with your grapple and hit as hard as you can, as fast as you can when your foe is stunned. You have the best mobility in the entire game, you can go help your mates when you want to. So stay behind and wait for opportunities to do big damages.
And don't rely too much on the melta, it tend to make you lazy and waste ammos.
Those two make things make vanguard incredible. You won't have access to that team perk yet, but the melta gun is more than enough to help you out.
to whom it may concern: I main Vanguard WITHOUT melta (sporting a bolter carbine). The sequence goes like this, every damned time: dive to hit the warrior. attack the warrior again, 'cause he refuses to die. get your armour screwed by the million ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ minions attacking you. aggressively parry against said minions to gain some space. minions keep coming and, in the same time, warrior attacks you while you are getting shot with sniper's precision. after one thousand parries and opportunistic executions, you come out barely alive.
Yep and that's why I explained to you that you should follow other players instead of leading the charge. 2 is better than 1, so choose a player with a class that complement yours well and follow him, ready to jump in to help him.
I refuse to use the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ melta. I'd rather stick to my (underwhelming) carbine, get used to it and prepare for the moment that melta-meta users will get trashed, when the patch will come out
1) Bolt pistol for Range enemies + spores.
2) Hook + chain = Execution.
3) Hook + melta + chain = Execution.
It is awesome class. Tried solo play with bots at low difficulty (7th lev Vanguard). Vanguard is a devastating class and flexible.
And by the way bots are better than a runaway and lead-astray teammate. We annihilate waves just because we stick together.
The class does not need a nerf but the melta you mentioned twice there will definitely get a huge nerf, it's a massive crutch for players with 0 skill.
Only, they won't. They are fixing the obvious overheal glitch. But even if Melta dmg was nerfed say 1/3rd, Vanguards will still use it. Because Vanguard weakness is waveclearing, and that weapon single-handedly solves that problem. Vanguards have 10% self heal on Majoris execution talent at 25, so they don't care. They'll outsustain everyone anyway. (Yes it says 1%, but is a typo)
