its usually the ones who are actually calling the game woke and not just trolling

took a gander through the curator section (which was a mistake) and seeing people call the game woke for having female combatants in the guard and female authority figures in the guard despite the fact there have been female authority figures in practically every book since the start of the Horus heresy novels (and probably before that)

i cant help but feel like people just throw the woke label at the wall for anything these days

'Murica strikes again. People just don't understand that the franchise is from the UK and 30+ years old with scores of novels and backstory content strewn through Codex's, White Dwarf and other publications by GW in those 30+ years. They simply do not comprehend the games universe.

Not really, I genuinely think that the 40k community is one of the best, along with the Dark Souls one. They're both lighthearted and mainly here for the fun.

The community isn't the problem here, the problem is all the social network bullies looming everywhere on the internet these days, seeking for a new witch hunt launched by their journalists / activists lords. They need to be humbled a bit and normal peoples need some space away from such toxic environments they create.

Every community has a "that part" that is toxic af and often very loud and makes the fandom look bad. 40k sadly has a VERY loud toxic part of the community. That is what I meant by "it's bad". Seriously, 40k fans will go rampant on twitter and facebook about the smallest things.

Well, that's not my personnal experience at all, all the peoples I knowed from 40k over the years were all very nice peoples. I only have good vibes about it all and I see the troublemakers as some external annoyance, not a part of the community.

From my point of view, a bad community is closer to League of Legend community for exemple. But the 40 K one ? Not even close to that level of toxicity.
