Due to account settings online multiplayer is not available

error is as the title states. I pre-ordered this game for early access and haven't been able to get online from day one. I have tried all of the known resolutions, including a fresh install of windows. Thanks for any and all help

Could be related to steam privacy settings.

Game uses steamworks since it kicks you offline if you lose connection to steam, so that's where i would personally start looking.

No solutions as far as I know. Still can’t play online.

Same here. Was part way through a game and suddenly it kicked me out. Now I apparently can't connect due to "account settings".

I still have no fix for this issue. If this happened during a steam outage then it tells me something with steam isn’t allowing SM2 to connect on my end even when there is a connection.

it's this nonsense ^ happens too often lately, steam dropped/reconnected twice in last couple hours. Even a 1 second hiccup ends game progress instantly. absurd. make it stop.

I saw this same thing when I disabled cross play. It worked after re-enabling it. Apparently turning off crossplay blocks connecting completely.
