There are less venom canon tyranids than there are hotshot lasgun traitor guardsman tho.
But maybe if you give it a real chance, one may develop some tactics that makes it really easier in the end, i cant say. Because i havent played against chaos that much (i hate it) xD
Killing Dust Marines on Ruthless feels like hitting a crab shell and trying to bust it open.
The problem with Chaos is the maps themselves. Reliquary (Helldrake map) is the toughest of them all IMO and Fall of Atreus feels tedious. Vox Liberatis is my favourite (easiest for me) and Decapitation is nice because there is an actual bossbattle.
When I was going through all the maps with Vanguard, they were about on par, Vanguard can close the distance safely and easily and stunlock everything. The rest of the classes I noticed the difference.
