Multi melta in pvp is total garbage !
I was so happy today to finally reach 15th level of veterancy and unlock multi melta...and then I wasn't. The range is too short, it's only around 10 meters ! In the campaign it's much longer, around 50 meters, I understand that pvp has different dynamics and weapons look a bit different but c'mon! Multi melta in pvp should have at least half of the range it has in the campaign, around 25 meters - that would be fair. Second thing, the time between consecutive shots is too long - it takes about 4 shots to down a tactical but you need to wait 0.5 second to get the next shot - it's extremely long, I can do it much faster and easier with a devastator heavy bolter. So it completely doesn't make any sense because multi melta is supposed to be better at fast killing enemies at close range than heavy bolter - but it isn't, so what's the point grinding for it ? Solution - 1. make the range longer - around 25 meters, shorten the time between the shots or make the shots more powerful so it would take say 3 of them to down a tactical, not four. If multi melta dosen't get a decent buff nobody's gonna play it. I've been playing Space Marine 2 for almost two weeks now and I saw only one guy using a multi melta - me. That means something developers, I love this weapon in the lore but here it sucks monkey hairy balls and is completely useless.

It's broken in pve, no need for it to be broken in pvp too
Multi melta should either do more damage with same RoF or get increased RoF with same damage as it has now.

Imo the best solution would be to increase the damage. It should litteraly do twice the amount of damage a standard melta does since it has 2 barrels.
Doubling damage in PvP doesn't make any sense, that'd be broken OP. But damage should be increased.

Now before claiming multi melta does enough damage as it is, I agree.
Problem is, it only does its "true" damage at litteral point blank range.
When I ask to increase the damage, by that I mean increase the damage by range for multi melta. That should make the weapon finally viable.

What do you mean ? It works very well in the campaign, I don't know about operations cos I don't play them but generally if it was half as good in pvp as it is in the campaign...it'd be just fair, that's all because now it's useless.

Yeah, something like that + the range itself in pvp should be longer - it's laughable that a bolt pistol has a longer range than one of the most powerful weapons in Wh40k XD
edit - even in table top, multi melta has the same range as a bolter gun - it's a medium range weapon, not a short range one - like a bolt pistol.
