Could be this, some sort of hardware defect that was brought to light because this game is pretty GPU and CPU heavy. Utilization and temps can ramp up and stay pretty high. Almost like a stress test of sorts.
If you think it's a purely software issue created by Space Marine 2 (which is doubtful), you could try using Revo Uninstaller to remove all traces of it. Maybe reinstall your graphics card driver also.
I almost built a new rig when the 14th gen came out. I'm super glad I held out after hearing everything that's going on with them. I'll milk this 10900k for another year or so if I have to. I feel bad for all of the people having problems.
Get rid of the hard drive get an SSD download Intel Extreme Tuning downclock by lowering the ratio. Done.
