Sad that this has to be said, but lets go to the codex "The first Custodes codex in 8th went through the lore & creation process with consistent use of gender, referring to them as 'sons of the emperor' and 'a brotherhood'. "It is known that all Custodians begin their lives as the infant sons of the noble houses of Terra" The God Emperor over saw everyone of them if not most of their births, he was the only master of making them, each one a work of art never to be repeated, he could have made a female, but he did not. Now that he is on the golden throne who is making them? Glad you asked, it's Angenitist they have a passing knowledge as it states. For example it took 200 years for the Emerpor to make 10,000. It took them 9,000 years to make 9,000. So for a female custodian to be possible one: the Emperor didn't make them. 2: people who can't make them efficiently suddenly goes an entirely different route with the Emperor's "mastery of genetic alchemy" (Emerpor's words) and do it on an entirely new biology, when not even female space marines have been made, and do so successfully. I'd argue Primaris is the more worrying thing. Shows that GW is quite down to phasing out an entire army to make people buy a new one. Who gives a ♥♥♥♥ about psuedoscience though, it's there for fluff and changes at a whim

i have 0 issues with primaries marines and think its a great addition to the lore to have them finally try to improve on the emperors design ! this is good! science is the back bone of the setting and makes it science fiction with out science you would just have fiction!

Primaris lore is trash and rushed writing to again, like justifying custodes existence at all by 40,000 AD, simply exists to justify GW wanting to sell a new line of models.

Why they buffed “first born” is same ♥♥♥♥, have way too much back stock on old models, same reason why all old warhammer fantasy armies were allowed in AoS day one, other than not to completely piss off old fans who already own models ofc.

9th edition codex removed that line, it no longer says "ALL" or that they are all sons of nobles houses just "it is a great honour for those of terran noble houses to submit a son" remember the 8th edition codex is also the first ever real custodes lore we got, if you dislike the lore changes from 8th to 10th edition i would assume you also dislike the lore changes of the necrons as well as that of the tyranids.

If people with a uterus want to die and occasionally fight for the emperor, so be it. Plenty of drugs and cyber enhancements to make hormonal differences irrelevant.

Sisters of Battle -> warrior nuns
Space Marines -> warrior monks

If you don´t care about lore because reasons then look for some generic franchise with plenty of uterus why bothering us?

These folks didn't complain when GW retconned Assassins from being all women into being both men and women.

They didn't post these same tired old rants when Necrons went from being mindless slaves of the C'tan to being Tomb Kings in space who had defeated the C'tan.

They didn't get angry when Eldar-Human hybrids stopped being a thing. Or when the Horus Heresy started getting books that were vastly different than how the codexes had portrayed that stuff up until then. Or when Dark Eldar were no longer Chaos worshippers.

These people act like all the retcons that the 7th and 8th editions introduced are what have been the lore since 1987 when that's not even the case.
