starting a new game

Hey everyone random question which is probably stupid but i am gonna ask it anyway.

If i wanna start campaign again in a new difficulty it says this will delete my progress. but to get to online mode i have to press continue into a saved profile (saved game). if i now play in the hardest difficulty and i suck that bad that i cant even progress to operations can i still access online as i have completed the campaign? and also will it delete my current online progress??

finished it in second hardest but wanna see how i do haha

If you go in the battle barge, to the console next to the Thunderhawk, you can replay/start campaign missions on other difficulties. No need to restart the campaign as a whole.

No idea resetting would affect online stuff, seems odd if it did but not sure.
