Tactical Primary - Best for Majoris / Terminus killing?

I understand the melta is the meta, so yeah I'm expecting that suggestion.

I've been running Heavy Bolt Rifle with accuracy, ammo, block piercing etc, but it feels absolutely no fun and very ineffective. Is the Incinerator any fun? Tactical should feel capable at all ranges, but it feels lacking other than I'm using my Assault's relic chainsword...

Plasma with proper auspex build feels great for majoris/terminus, and its common shots are actually pretty good for minoris.

Didn't even realise it was available, since none of the bolt rifle tooltips mention the nade launcher.

You can find it is an option under the normal bolt rifle.

I'll give it a few runs to get it exp. Sounds like the right idea though, AoE for Minoris and precision shots for bigger targets.

Damage is fine, but i do not find plasma weapons to be that fun to use personally.

For AoE clear, yea Melta is the meta, Grenade Launcher Bolt Rifle is gonna feel bad in comparison. It's radius is like half that of a normal Frag Grenade and no where near the damage output of both a frag grenade and a Melta gun.

Heavy Bolt Rifle differs from Melta in that it can AoE clear enemies from farther ranges and do some good single target DPS. It's not as good as Melta, but at least beats it in some aspects. (Better single target dps, longer effective range, but lacks AoE stagger for Majoris enemies)

Plasma does good single target DPS for boss fights, but for general use, you're gonna get better use out of Heavy Bolt Rifle or Melta.

Plasmas are Okish' Bolters all feel terrible with exceptions of the stalker bolt gun.

Melta if you're boring, Bolter with grenade launcher if you want "the best" that isn't Melta. Stalker for anything else.
