I was in a coop game with a

Blood Raven... outstanding.!

I'm a wolf but it is fantastic to see the ravens..

question is are they linked to the blood angels?

from what we know, no. most common theory is they are either thousand sons or wordbearers. the world bearer link is only because they had a recruitment world in the aurelia sector, and aurelia was the wordbearers world. but that's it. the thousand sons make more sense given the unusual amount of psykers they have, and that often times the chief librarian is also sometimes the chapter master!

No one knows the origins of their geneseed.

That said their motto "knowledge is power" and the fact that they seem to have more librarians then usual (their chapter master even being a librarian until the events of Dawn of war II) makes one think their geneseed may come from Magnus (So thousand sons).

If so they would be a daring attempt (experiment?) to use old traitor legion geneseed to make a new lojalist chapter. That said Cawl apparently did the same thing for the primaris (Without Guillimans permission) according to one of his books (would be kinda neat if we find out that Cawl is behind the creation of the blood ravens, experimenting to see how a new chapter created from the thousand son geneseed would pan out).
