Addressing Hive Tyrant (and similar mechanics)
One of the most frustrating issues when it comes to boss fights is scaling difficulty and challenge vs Player skill.

What sucks the fun factor and the skill factor out of the game is when "undodgeable" and unmitigable elements are introduced into play. Such mechanics as the Hive Tyrants second stage where it gets enraged and starts pulsing waves of psychic energy that cannot truly be dodged and guarantees damage against the space marine players.

This is not fun or skill based and certainly puts a time table on slaying the beast. We either need better healing mechanics in an apothecary class or we need the mechanics of the fight itself re-evaluated.

But have you tried pumping bullets right into its ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ head as fast as you can? Works wonders.

bro isnt talking about the pulses, he is talking about the roar that does aoe damage and if you happen to be anywhere near the hive tyrant when he does it, you dont have enough time to roll out of it.

It's 100% dodgeable wait till the wave is about to hit your feet then dodge.

It gives you more than ample warning and you only need to fight it once to know it does it.

Just roll wave right when it near you, it's easy avoidable. Just get timing right. All boses very simple in terms of their mechanics, just give yourself time to memorize them.

All these dopes that don't even read the thread and just say the same thing over and over are why the steam forums will always suck.

The hive tyrant does not have anything that's undodgeable.

How does that even relate to scaling difficulty anyway?

Also the neurothrope has the exact same mechanic and is dodgeable.

Do you mean the waves when it attacks? because the I-frames on your dodge let you dodge through them or the waves when it screams? because the I-frames on your dodge let you dodge through them.
I do agree that it isn't fun to fight though

Dodge Forward its the only way not to take damage.

Backwards is also fine bc I-frames if you do it right on the edge.

I used to be able to dodge, but after the first patch, I can't dodge.

So what’s the verdict on how to dodge the attacks? I feel like sometimes I can sometimes I can’t dodge the pulse attack
