Do I really meet the minimum requirements for a PC?
I bought Space Marine 2 on Steam and, after the new game’s initial video, I have a beautiful black screen to then see the game crash and close. The characteristics of my PC are as follows, I assume that I do not have a good machine, but I believe that according to the release from the production company I fully meet the minimum requirements:

11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-1135G7 @ 2.40GHz 2.42 GHz

RAM 16,0 GB

Intel (R) Iris(R) Xe Graphics 8 GB

HD 500 GB

Windows 11 Home

Do you think it’s completely impossible that Space Marine 2 can run on such a machine or I have to do something? Of course I set the game to any setting at minimum.

Hello my Brother!

Thanks for contacting us on behalf of the Emperor!

In order to perform your duty in battle let us share with you the minimum specs to run our game smoothly:

Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system

OS: Windows 10/11 64-bit

Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 2600X / Intel Core i5-8600K

Memory: 8 GB RAM

Graphics: 6 GB VRAM, AMD Radeon RX 580 / Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060

DirectX: Version 12

Storage: 75 GB available space

Additional Notes: 30 FPS in 1920x1080 with "Low" preset. SSD required.

Now once you are in the game, please update your video options to the next specs:

Display mode: Borderless.

Render resolution: Performance

Upscaling: TAA.

Vsync: Off.

Fps limit: 30.

Quality presets: Low.

Let us know if you have any other question my Brother!

You may find that your PC will lack in performance as your CPU is outdated, and your integrated graphics may not be able to handle the load of the game.

You need actual GPU to play modern games and this Intel XE is integrated graphics that will not even get 30fps in 720p and that's in the less demanding games. Also your CPU is not that great either 4cores only. If it's not clear by now then no it won't work - which is same with any other modern game out there.

sad to say but that rig, definitely doesnt meet the min requirements. first red flag for me, is the HD. hard drive...... if its a chunky diskspinning HDD, it will not run end of. the game needs to be on an SSD minimum. because the read and write requirements for files is much heavier than older games. i dont mean in size, but the code itself, is constantly being read, written, transfered ect ect, so machines need to be able to keep up with the games files. the other red flag is the ram, you say its 16gb, is it DDR3, DDR4 or DDR5?..... also is that 16gb free?! for example - not in use. if your system has 16gb flat, your are not going to have 16gb free, more like 8 or 9 gb free, which will mean slower game performance, longer loading times, screen stutters, system hangs ect.

i mean, all in all, your spec is a red flag, your cpu and graphics, from the minimal info you've given, says to me its a laptop. im not going to lie, even gaming laptops with dedicated components, simply wont run this game fluidly. even if they do, its going to overheat in minutes. integrated graphics which shares cpu cache, will also use some of your "free" ram and drive space in order to mimic a graphics card (basically a virtual card), leaving you less than 8 or 9 gb.

sorry mate, wish i had better news.

Thanks to everyone for the answers and for the kindness! Probably from what I understand the best thing to do would be to simply get a new machine with better performance 🤣 I was thinking, if I could increase my RAM to 32GB could I overcome the graphics card's VRam problems?

No that won't work. You need a dedicated graphics card, and yeah your CPU probably won't be up to much either tbh. A new machine would be better.

Ok, I'll accept fate and spend this damn money
