Saw the ending and uhhh...
Does the Chaplain seem kinda lame to those who know his identity? Cuz the impression I had with them is that they're frontline leaders that are just as inspiring with their martial prowess as they are with their sermons. Instead of really seeing his awe-inspiring fighting abilities, we just see him act as the angry parent to three adopted adult children.

I think it doesn't help that for some people, their first impression of the SM Chaplain is the Ultramarines Chaplain from the first Dawn of War game, voiced by Scott McNeil

Malum Caedo didn't finish the work Captain Titus started

Well the reason he acts like that towards Titus is because he is the one who accused Titus of heresy in the first game which is why Titus spent 100 years getting tortured by the inquisition and another 100 as a black shield in the deathwatch.
Leandro is just a ♥♥♥♥

I mean, back when SM1 was new, he sorta kinda had a point about accusing Titus for heresy on account of his unnatural resistance to psychic attacks, and I'm p sure that his supposed connection to the Warp as per Nemeroth would be a way for the game's health mechanics to exist from a lore perspective.

Leandros went over his chapters head. Calgar made clear that any accusation of corruption is taken to the chapter first and not the Inquisition and Calgar was quite pissed that Titus was sent away, which is also the reason why Leandros was forced to become a chaplain.

Leandros violated the Codex he cared so much about, he was supposed to report you to the chapter's chaplain, instead he went straight to the inquisition, who in turn threatened to kill everyone on the planet (guardsmen included) if Titus didn't surrender.

There are definitely times that you can here the absolute contempt in his voice when talking to Titus, and that led a lot of people to guess that it was Leandros even before he took off the mask. Also there are a few theories out there that Leondros was punished severely for what he did, hence why he's a chaplain now (and so full of contempt).

It is an honor, same as being an apothecary is an honor. But Space Marines are tools for war, they live and breath only for war. They want to fight, its literally the only thing they are made to do. So, who doesnt get to fight as often as their battle-brothers?

Except Chaplains DO engage in battle on a somewhat frequent basis, and their presence is considered to be a huge morale boost in the battlefield. However, we never actually get to see the Chaplain's skill in battle, instead receiving dad lectures that ultimately mean very little to Titus' squad.

That's an insult to the LGBT+ community, rather than to Leandros.

No, Chaplains dont even somewhat frequently engange in battle. When they go to battle, then its usually a big one and ironically, those are quite rare compared to the actual frequent strike missions of Space Marine squads.

I know the lore presents the galaxy in constant warfare and we always hear about the greatest of battles with several Chapters included helping the imperial guard against a massive fleet of whatever. But that is not really the "norm", it would be quite devastating if that was the norm, tbh. Why do you think Space Marine chapters still survive with only 1000 actual marines?

I mean, considering all the media and especially videogames, you would think that dreadnoughts are quite common doing missions for the chapter. But they arent. Usually they are only used in dire times.
