Why are Thousand Sons called "The Archenemy"?

Horus the Primarch of the Sons of Horus (formerly Luna Wolves) fell to Chaos starting the Horus Heresy (30k) and is the "Archtraitor", Chaos is since then coined the "Archenemy" so every SpaceMarine Chapter/Legion that fell to Chaos is dubbed thusly "Archenemy".

Poor writing. The thousand sons aren't the arch enemy. And they aren't as unga bunga evil as written in this game. They're fairly "neutral" as chaos legions can get. They just wanna re-assemble themselves and their primarch.

But to be fair, the 40k setting is founded on blind zealotry, so it makes sense for the ultramarines to be using over-the-top verbage like "archenemy"

the imperium calls chaos the archenemy, as a chaos legion the thousand sons therefore belong to the archenemy category as well.

and then for the astartes the fact that they are thair cousins and traitors to the imperium makes it even worse.
