I think I read it was Logan Grimnar who ran in a termy suit. During the months of shame he got that pissed at the Inquisition he teleported aboard their ship and ran at either the leader of the Grey Knights and/or Inquisition and well, lopped off a few heads.

Just searched a bit, you are right Logan Grimnar apperatnly sprinted in it and someone mentioned Chaplain Cassius that apperantly sprinted in Terminator Armour (Helsreach Novels)

Haegr apperantly never wore Terminator armour, but specially build Power Armour. So that one I def. remembered wrongly.

Pppfffttt...the Space Sharks has Tyberos in modified DREADNOUGHT armor on his Terminator Armor and he has been described as a blur he can move so fast as to delete multiple Tyranid Warriors in a flash.

Grey knights, average grey Knight vs any other chapter average will come out on top, by a good margin.

There are specific individuals that are amazing from other chapters though. The Grey Knight chapter master is considered the strongest chapter master too.

I don't know this myself, I got this from mates talking to each other, who have been playing the TT and reading about the 40k universe for 20 odd years.

MajorKill is not a super reliable source of information and the picture of Tyberos towering over space marines is not canon

From the lexicanum this is cited from Imperial Armour Volume Ten - The Badab War - Part Two, pg. 178

"Never seen outside his archaic suit of Terminator armour, his face, when revealed, was a corpse-white nightmare with half the bones of the face exposed in a bloodless grimace, his eyes a soulless, depthless black. Those that witnessed him in combat and lived to tell the tale spoke of him as a blood-splattered killing machine moving almost too fast for the eye to see and that he leaves nothing but mangled corpses in his wake; yet it appeared that he was acting with precise and deadly intention in combat, as if every strike was cold and calculated beforehand, rather than the product of mere rage."

Gray Knights are far the best.
All psykers, no case of corruption,in their history best weapons and equipements,

Even regular Space Marines can fear them and be wiped because Gray Knights "don't exist" for no one.

Minotaurs, Grey Knights, and Black Templars, and Tyberos (Carcharadons) Tyberos is based Chad of Chads. Not because those are my favorite chapters but because it's the right answer.

Depends on what you mean by "strongest".
Physically meaning musclemass?
Or tactical acumen, gear, fleet size etc.?

There are Chapters that are more suited to certain ways of fighting than others.
Raptor Chapter (basically reasonable Marines made canon), Mantis Warriors, Raven Guard etc. are great at fighting covert operations, assassinations, guerilla warfare so what you would expect of the SAS and other Soldiers like that.

Blood Angles, Black Templars, Space Wolves are famed for their acumen in fighting brutal melee battles and Shock combat deployment.

Imperial Fists are great as defenders in a siege and can also be used as a chapter to besiege another force.

Ultramarines are a jack of all trades kinda chapter, good at everything, perfect at nothing except for logistics and admin stuff which is what they are great at (Ultramar with its 500 worlds is the best place to live, in my opinion).

There are named Space Marines that are even bigger and taller than the average Space Marine e.g. Alexis Polux was said to be near the height of a Primarch and became the first Chapter Master of the Crimson FIsts (formerly he was of the Imperial Fists).
Haegr the Mountain was a Space Wolve with an insaciable appetite that had also more of a Strongman bodytype.
The Chapter Master of the Carcharodons is a hulking Space Marine by the name of Tyberos (The Red Wake) who basically walks in Terminator Armour like it is normal Power Armour (I think somewhere it mentions that he can sprint in Terminator Armour but don´t quote me on that).

Also Black Templars are rumored to be the strongest Chapter in terms of size since they sh*t on the Codex and also make use of a loophole in it, they are always on Crusade so they can always have more than a 1000 marines.

If you count the "Last Wall Protocol" implemented by Rogal Dorn, the Imperial Fists are the strongest chapter (if used, Imperial Fists unite with all their successor chapters to which the Black Templars also belong, to defend Terra/the Imperium).

Edit: The Ultramarines were the biggest Legion in the 30k days based on pure numbers (before the Heresy) and also spawned the most successor chapters in the Imperium. Their Geneseed is also famously stable, which of course aids in producing successor chapters.
this except i think most chapter have a return to the mother-ship protocol, like recently when all the Blood Angels and co. returned to defend during The Devastation of Baal.

The Codex is a set of guidelines, not a religious scripture that must be followed like some zealously religious cult, unfortunately humanity is a zealously religious cult...

the ones with names, if the marine isnt named, the best they get is being said to have took part in an action that helped the named marines do their pretend to be the hero thing, but usually they get to die very easily to showcase the strength of the enemy in question

The Story-Important characters is most correct answer. Otehrwise authors have to be slightly creative to justify why they are still alive and why they did what they did.
I'd say Blood Angels have technically strongest space-marine - Mephiston. Karking 40k Drakula with over 9000 Psyker's power level.

Brother they're going to report you to the Chaplin for heresy lol
In terms of raw stats, Grey Knights. Course they cost twice as much and all their recruits are pyskers.

Ultramarines were always the biggest legion so they have the most bodies to throw at someone but the Space Wolves were known as the Emperors Executioners and would be the first choice in pacifying any Legion and it was always hinted at that they are the ones that destroyed the 2 missing legions
Xolrac Oct 7, 2024 @ 3:25pm
more powerfull where the thousand sons pre heresy, but now the Grey Knights
Jimmy D Spoofy Oct 7, 2024 @ 4:58pm
I'd guess Deathwatch if you can really count them. Otherwise the Emperor's Guards
