The Bolt Sniper has a perk in its perk tree that returns ammo based on half enemies killed? or hit? not sure which during the magazine. Means that even though it looks like it has less overall firepower, it actually has much, much more sustain.
Choose accordingly.
For a general use weapon though, the semi-auto bolt carbine definitely gets my vote. Only use the automatic if you need to level it up manually, it pales heavily in comparison, because the semi auto has massive inherent pierce meaning it does enough damage to kill Majoris enemies with headshots but can also be used very effectively against Minoris hordes.
you'll still enjoy the headshot modifiers and the cloak damage bonus and do tons of damage to extremis and terminis, but you know the left bridge swarm spawn at the end of Inferno? yeah, you'll rail right through the nids with a las fusil and one man that entire wave.
bolt? if you're only interested in mowing down all majoris in any encounter, and leaving the rest to your brothers or your trustworthy sidearm and melee, bolt is the weapon for you
