Current state of FOV mods?

Hi,

I delayed playing until the UW changes were introduced and I'd also like to mod my FOV to prevent motion sickness.

Can anyone provide a current update on this and how to (if needed) force PC to offline so I can use any changes? It seems that mods for this are on/off Nexus due to admin concern over gameplay alteration so I'm being cautious about what I source to avoid copping any backdoor malware etc.

as far as i know in multiplayer game with crossplay and ingame lobbys you cant use mods cause thats use of modified files. which could technically be cheating.

I'm only playing campaign solo so I'm trying to work out the bounds of what the game will allow as well as the Devs intentions.

I am realising that the UW change is done by Vertical Compression not Horizontal expansion of the FOV -- so basically zooming in.

This compounds the problem that I have been raising from a medical perspective about Headaches, Nausea and seizures that this company like others seems hell bent on not acknowledging. They put up warnings but don't enable game changes to assist.

Colour blind support is ubiquitous in games but not this and the reasoning offered is really weak honestly.

The technical complexity case is dashed by day one player mods and the impact on gaming is really unrepresentative of what this game actually is and what constitutes fun and playability for many.

I've seen some abusive nonsense from non UW or others about FOV change for anyone and I suspect nearly every poster doing it peaked at birth or is an uneducated adolescent.

Search for "St1cky" here on the Steam forums. Theres a very simple mod, 1 file - drag & drop - that mods your FOV.

Does not force offline mode or EAC bypass.

Thanks I found him on here and have that :)

Now I need to work out if there is a "real" UW mod to fix what seems a dodgy vertical crop by the devs. Maybe FOV will do it by restoring my vertical POV? Here's hoping as I'm excited to finally give the game a go :D

you may not have installed it properly because thats exactly what it fixes lol... use the 93 or 103 FOV mod and obviously it "restores your vertical POV"

Imo the default fov is fine (tho it's always great to have the ability to change it). But they should add a feature enabling us to switch shoulders (similar to the Division 2) mainly for pvp

altering the fov in my opinion is a cheat in operations and in mp but you could also say the same thing about altering shadow quality or depth of field. so its cheating but redundant.

the best thing to do is to attempt a dialog with the dev team to add more options in the settings and up vote it. so you don't have to use a separate program that you probably need a bypass for because easy anti cheat.

or the ability to go fpv but if you don't know you hold the sidearm with the opposite hand of your main gun so you can still peak shots from right and left corners if your not a bulwark or assault

most of that can be explained by the fact they decided to use easy anticheat day -4 you could bypass the games protections, because it seams the only thing a kernel anticheat is good at is logging people data and selling it to data brokers.
