Is there the potential for a female character?
I'm new to the Warhammer 40k series and understand there isn't really female space marines, but was hopeful it would be an option in the game. I was thinking maybe like the female custodes?

No idea if that's even an option with this game or the direction its taking. I was mostly curious.

Devs said gotta wait till Space Marine 3 for Sisters of Battle. So unlikely unless the dlc plans get expanded due to the games popularity. Wouldn't get your hopes up,

This game will never have female playable characters. There are no female Astartes.

Go to Ubisoft and ask them for Spacemarine-like or WorldWarZ-like game with female/LGBT characters or do some mods. Stop asking about female/LGBT characters already.

There's no reasoning for the deployment of any Custodes, as they are so few in number, and each Custodian is trained to fight as an army of one, versus the approach of astartes being about strength in numbers and a balanced loadout to tackle all enemies despite never being specialised in any single area. They are also hard to produce, despite being to space marines, what space marines are to regular humans The chances are slim. Also, it is canon that Astartes chapters are male only.

Before I go further, let me explain about the 'special police' known as The Inquisition. The Inquisition are tasked with combating threats to humanity via the formation of Ordos. There are 3 main types and numerous minor types. The mains are Ordo Xenos (alien hunters), Malleus (Chaos hunters) and Hereticus (heretic hunters).

The Adepta Sororitas aren't really suited since they are the Chamber Millitant of the Ordo Hereticus, and the situation is not one of heresy.

The Deathwatch, which is the Chamber Millitant of the Ordo Xenos, specialise in hunting aliens and have already been featured; they are comprised of selected marines from various Astartes chapters, usually the best of the best and all male. Think 'Top Gun' but for space marines.

The Grey Knights, who are the Chamber Millitant of the Ordo Malleus, would be applicable here, as they counter Chaos incursions, of which the presence of the Thousand Sons and Tzeentchian daemons are examples of. The Grey Knights are comprised of psyker astartes that have their geneseed provided from the Emperor himself. Again, all male. But their existence is such a heavily guarded secret, every space marine outside of the Grey Knights' would have their memories wiped, which is not all that bad, but any Astra Militarum (Imperial Guard) or civilians who witness the actions of Grey Knights or learn of their existence, are simply executed. There is a lot of lore on this chapter, and if you're interested, try reading about the war for Armageddon and the resulting order to purge the civilian population and Astra Militarum regiments - https://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Months_of_Shame

Side note; Lexicanum is a good source of truncated lore, without too much fluff and is succinct and to the point.

There are numerous 40k game's with female characters and bad arse ones at that. This however is not one of them.
