I already maxed out sniper, it was a good suggestion though.
Both maxed, tactical is the best class in game, thanks to perk you never run out of ammo. Bolter is super efficient against swarm, auspex, nade laucher is the ultimate combo to destroy anything bigger and being a real threat.
He is also a very decent melee fighter and his reflex shot is close to assault.
Sniper on the other hand lack of ammo and really shine when target is under auspex. Also is a good melee fighter thank to dagger cloack combo. But overall hes less flexible than tactical.
No doubt, no doubt, but my only problem with plasma incendiary is the drop off at certain ranges. Not damage-wise, but literal drop off xD
Heavy is better. Sure, tactical has auspex which is welcomed in any party, but heavy with heavy plasma incendiary is a beast 1 shooting chaos marines, 1-2 shooting groups of tyranid range units, and 2-3 shooting tyranid warriors (groups of them).
I have both 25lvl tactical and heavy and I prefer heavy. It just a beast and perform a lot better against chaos (shield and ranged aoe high dmg)
Although melta tactical is probably strong, but I find its gameplay be a bit boring and it strugling to deal boss dmg.
(And again, worse VS chaos because of ranged nature of fight most times).
Plasma incendiary and melta gun is probably best for for tactician.
But I cannot deny tactician survivability. I once carried death team surviving 4-5 warriors, 4 bdsm tyranids, and whole minoris group just blocking, gunstriking and using finishers in the corner for like 30-40+ seconds allowing my team to rez.
Heavy couldn't do that. But on the other hand, heavy kills so well that we wouldn't be in that situation because everything would've been death before that happened.
I love both classes, but heavy feels more well rounded and stronger for every occasion. It shines in the group which can hold front and allow you to support them with heavy fires from the back. At the end of matches I have 16-21k ranged dmg and 1-4k melee dmg.
P.S don't underestimate heavy's stomping power. During bridge defense in mission 2 and end of inferno, I stomp so many miniris to death... Heavy is invincible against any minoris swarm, no matter the size. Stomp, stomp, gunstrike, repeat. It's untouchable.
Tactician on the other hand has great survivability and is great in melee, against tyranid swarms. If you like melee, tactician with parry auspec perk is probably strongest melee class, able to survive swarms of majoris to his face. It has more active game play (unless you use multimeta), while heavy is chilling in the back shooting everything to death.
You get used to it.
