"It's repetitive."
I'm hearing this more and more. I don't mind the repetition, but people are asking for things that won't solve this issue. New Operations levels will not solve the repetition. Why? Because every Op is essentially the same:
  • linear path
  • go here/do this
  • fight groups along the way
The variety in these levels come from:
  • the enemy type
  • random objective requirements (2 demo charges or 5, elevator stops working, etc.)
  • mini-bosses
How does Saber fix this? Not with more Ops.
Rather than use dev time for more of the same, Saber should create a whole new mode. My suggestion is a Raid mode:
  • 6 players (1 person to each class)
  • Destiny-esque Raid mechanics (puzzles, multi-stage bosses, etc.)
  • special cosmetics exclusive to the Raids
  • attach unique, difficult challenges to the Raids that reward exclusive cosmetics (no on takes Red Health damage, complete under a certain time, etc.)

Saber clarifications are disappointing.
They have confirmed that "New Enemy" on the roadmap does not refer to a new faction. It will be a new enemy unit in the existing two factions. It sounds like they are saving new factions for SM3. That's fine with me. But if this is the case, the Raid mode suggestion above is no longer a suggestion. It's an absolute necessity. This game cannot and will not survive with additions to the current mode offerings.

TLDR
Add a Raid mode with 6 players, please.

Not that I mind the idea of raids, but I'm not sure how that solves the issue you're complaining about here. Raids just become the new ops, repetitive.

Adding more ops does alleviate the repetitiveness by keeping the levels from appearing as frequently too.

Raids with 6 players (one player to each class) would be significantly different than the Ops. Some possibilities:
  • Puzzles for each of the classes. (Assault gets platforming puzzle, Sniper stealth puzzle, etc.)
  • Unique boss mechanics similar to the Op with the Dragon and sigils.
  • Unique cosmetics (like I said in OP).
Adding Raids would be a much better use of time and add much more variety than just adding more Ops.
pve ops wouldnt be a issue to me honestly if they added optional objectives you can do mid game like secure a tech priest or servtor or secure a skull or something etc

That's true. But I'm not sure adding tedious tasks like that are the answer either.

Far from it. The Raids were always the best part of Destiny. This game would benefit from those sorts of challenges. If you're pushing back on this, say so and contribute to the conversation.

1. Having raids in a horde shooter is odd and makes no sense
2.Adding puzzle platforms in a horde shooter...yea no thanks
3.unique challenges would only be good but what exactly are they gonna put behind these? regular coins?

You want greater replayability, but Raids are just Ops, they will become stale after playing them a similar number of times.

True replayability would come from either procedural maps, or big open maps with objectives that spawn across them, or complex multi-path maps with pathing that is randomly open or closed.

There is already some stuff like the last one in the game, sometimes you don't have to do objectives and dont go to parts of the map. Saber should expand massively on that and make the maps much more complex and interesting with high variability and random events.

There is an element of truth to this but ultimately at its core, it is a repetitive game. Same for Halo games and similar shooters. Destiny style puzzles would be interesting for sure, and a new horde raid style mode is cool, but I don't think there is too much scope to have huge amounts of variety. Again it's baked into the fundamental style of the game

I'm fine with new Operations, new enemies whether different nids or 1k sons, or a completely new enemy altogether

Rather than discussions of new content, what I really want to see is a massive push and focus on the performance issues that have been the Achilles heel of the title, in my opinion
Fix the networking, and try to better optimise the game for a more stable experience

oh...
And tonnes of Chaos customisation... of course brothers

  1. It isn't a horde shooter. It's more like Left 4 Dead than Killing Floor.
  2. Okay.... care to make a suggestion?
  3. Unique cosmetics like Halo 3 used to do (Recon, Samurai armor, Flaming Skull, etc.)
