Unblockable spam needs some work
Started to notice this once I got to doing Substantial and Ruthless missions. But there really needs to be something done about the endless unblockable spam enemies can do...

Especially in areas where you get unlucky rng and there are like 9 Xenos with whips/blades etc, you just got 100-0'd with perma stun, unblockable spam. Same for boss fights where they spawn in mob enemies, like the second Operation. The boss just chases you relentlessly and boom here come 2-3 larger Xenos in your back that start spamming orange attacks together with the boss.

Something of invincibility frames, less perma stun or anything in that direction. Because the enemies will time their unblockables in such a way you dodge one, only to get hit by 2 others because you can't dodge in time again or they hit you while still in animation from dodging the first attack.

I don't mind a challenge, that's why I play the higher tiered missions. But there is nothing of a "challenge" in just getting stunlocked by orange attacks 100-0 because multiple enemies spam that stuff perfectly timed to not allow you to dodge.

I rarely encounter that "unblockable" spam

Pro tip when playing horde shooters, always be aware of your surroundings

If you see a group of majoris pull up and i understand the game is super easy right now but your still not entirely invincible you need to back up and let your team chip in.

With a fencing weapon you can solo 4 or 5 warriors in melee quite easily. It is a challenge, you just need to overcome it. Nothing wrong with the game in this particular regard. I notice you talk about trying to dodge. try to parry more perhaps. Parry is the key in this game.
You can also back up and make sure you don`t end up in this position if your class isn`t great at melee.

I had no problem prior the update, but ever since i CANNOT for the love of god confidently parry the whip warriors. I have no problem with any other enemy. But those pesky whip warriors.. Most of the times i come out of melee encounters with them majorly chipped down in health. It is probably just a skill issue, but something feels off. It probably has something to do with the parry change they made, i didn't fully understand that part in the patch notes.

Orange = 1 hit so dodge

Blue = 2 hits so you gotta parry twice

He's talking about unblockable orange attacks. Parrying does nothing against those.

I know. I have 120h, most of which were in ruthless. Like i said, i had no problem prior. Now, the timing feels off, and once you don't parry the first PARRYABLE attack, you get whipped over and over again until it ends its combo. That's my current problem with this group of enemies.

I mean that's kind of why blue and orange notifiers are a big deal its like major attacks so if you missed them or failed to react thats kind of on you

I've noticed that as well. What's more strange is, it seems like timing doesn't matter at all for those follow up hits, you can spam parry and it gets them all. No timing necessary. It's the same for the ravener flurries.

What about when you don't miss them, but there are three red notifications on top of each other? The i frame on the dodge isn't long enough to pick up the second and third, so you just get wrecked.

As thus you check your surroundings because its one thing to kill minoris hordes but the moment you see 4-5 of those warriors? thats your que to play highly defensive to bait parry's or dodge but you mainly just sit back with teammates if your unsure

no way in hell you ever see 3 red notifications at the same time, it just doesnt happen, some attacks have follow ups though, but they can all be dodged if u dont just spam dodgeroll but use the backstep.
also im 100% sure gunstrike comes out fast enough after a perfect dodge to stagger anything around, that is not a terminus
and you can do multiple perfect parries against at least 4 warriors in a row even without a fencing weapon
you can chain parries and backsteps together to make space as well and build armor that way now, dont need to use gunstrikes all the time

all these posts come down to skill issues in the end, you guys need to stop playing with lasfusils and meltas, and need to stop running away from every swarm into the elevators and actually try playing the game, maybe you figure it out.
GODzilla Sep 29, 2024 @ 3:34pm
Oh I know what you mean. The second mission, with the small swarm like things that at the beginning you can keep in check with the flamethrower, but later they attack together with all sorts of Tyranids and it just get's soooooooooooooooooo rediculous.

I hated it, but the end of the mission kinda redeemed it all. Damn the carnage you can do with the jetpacks! :D Loved that. ^^
