Patch 3.0 Broke server connectivity for Linux Users
My game worked almost flawlessly running Ubuntu 24.04 with proton 9. I previously had issues with proton experimental but that was 90+% resolved with the swap to 9.

I have almost 100hrs of playtime, all the best I have ever had in a video game for over the 20 years I've been playing.

That said this patch has literally 100% blocked me and many other Linux users from seemingly even attempting to connect to the game servers. Error Message: Connection Lost - Connection to Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 services was lost (Error code: AVF)

I have tried:
1) Restart Steam
2) Verify Game Files
3) Uninstall Game
4) Uninstall Game and Delete Game Folder
5) Swap Proton versions 9, Exp
6) Link Steam and Epic accounts

Nothing has worked.

It almost feels like we were the sacrificial lamb used to relieve server stress as they work to bring more servers online. I have no evidence to support that assertion but given the dev comments about working tirelessly to get the connectivity issues resolved for the larger gaming community and the amount of strain on the servers being cited as a significant contributing factor, that was my deduction.

I support this game, this franchise, and have been an immense supporter of this IP for almost 30 years. I am willing to wait and patiently continue my support without turning negative, as this is in my opinion the best game ever created.

That said, we the loyal supporters who are still out actively promoting this game to our networks, expect that loyalty to be reciprocated.

We are waiting for the middle of October!
Noice, looking forward to this.
Genuinely really enjoying using linux PopOS as my daily driver for 7 months now and gaming is near perfect for most games.

It was running flawlessly for me and my wife until this patch arrived ...
Now we do have UltraWideSupport but cant play together anymore.
We do hope for a hotfix. =/

Indeed. When I bought the game, pre-patch 3.0, everything worked fine. But with this patch I can only play offline which frustrates me as all the progress you are making will be reset once you are able to get back online.

I'm on Garuda Linux btw

Literally just said on Post #92 that they're going to fix it in a week or a little past it. I agree it's BS that it took them over a week to at least publicly say something and the way they announce it seems to be on their Discord rather than a public announcement, but the fix is coming. Communication is imo something AAA game developers suck at and it's the reason so many gamers feel fed up with so many.

Well, this can affect sales since the game would be unplayable on Steam Deck. Hope they address this quickly.

It's ~2-4%, which is like ~2.5 million linux players.

What do you mean? Linux users aren't the majority. Sounds like a bug that affects Linux and Windows users.

Plus, Steam Deck playerbase has been rising and it's nice to play on the go, traveling abroad, and etc... And more platform support means more players to play online with.

And accessbility to Steam Deck is nudging devs to consider optimizing their games, at least down the road.

Win 11 here can't play online AVF error, tried all to resolve but nothing, before last update September 23rd I played normally.

You can just uninstall Epic Online Services from windows and multiplayer still works. What is the point of EOS? Deleting EOS does not cause a conflict with EAC.

Happening on PC too. Can barely join a game and invites won't work at all
