Can't get past the opening cinematic...
I can't even experience the campaign because the opening cinematic freezes halfway through, I've noticed I'm not the only one experiencing these issues so it's probably not just a compatibility issue. Anyone have an idea to remedy this situation?

solution i have seen before is installing the game on SSD for your drive instead of hdd. not sure if this works as i've not tested it, but figured i'd share in-case. I myself am having issues with choppy audio and animations after the ultra-wide patch and have stopped playing until this fix it.

try disabling the Steam Overlay, i have to have it off to get it to launch on PopOS linux.

I can confirm having the game on a HDD causes issues. I had an issue kind of like that at first, the opening cinematic would "lag" the sound plays fine but video would freeze up, then I would get stuck in a black screen. Once I moved it to an SSD it ran with no issue.

Yes, turns out you just have to wait the extent of the opening cinematic. The game is great but how did it get to the point where we ignored how unfinished these games are and decided to accept it?

I did, I even bought the full version of "driver booster", the only thing I could do was wait out the opening while staring at a still image.

btw I was able to get into the game by pressing Enter at the start of the cinematic to bring up the loading bar, and then press Esc to pause it and let it finish loading, then skipped the cinematic.

Turns out the cinematic is also secretly a loading screen, and that's... not great.

Thank you, this was actually really helpful.
