AVF error -Resolved
**This is for Windows users who are having the AVF error, as of now I'm unaware of a Linux fix or steam deck fix**

Guide on the process
In Windows 11, you can allow firewall connections by process name using the Windows Defender Firewall settings. Here's how to do it:
Open Windows Security:
Click on the Start menu and select Settings (the gear icon).
Go to Privacy & security on the left pane.
Click on Windows Security.
Then click on Firewall & network protection.
Advanced Settings:
In the Firewall & network protection window, scroll down and click on Advanced settings. This opens the Windows Defender Firewall with Advanced Security window.
Inbound Rules:
In the left pane, select Inbound Rules. This is where you can create rules to allow connections.
New Rule:
In the right pane, click on New Rule….
Select Program and click Next.
Program Path:
Choose This program path: and browse to the executable file (.exe) of the application you want to allow through the firewall. Click Next.
Allow the Connection:
Select Allow the connection and click Next.
Profile Selection:
Choose when the rule applies (Domain, Private, Public). It’s usually best to select all three for most applications. Click Next.
Name the Rule:
Give your rule a name and, optionally, a description. Click Finish.
Outbound Rules (if needed):
If you also need to allow outbound connections, repeat the same steps in the Outbound Rules section.
After completing these steps, *****the specified process***(not any other processes/apps) should be allowed through the Windows Firewall. Make sure to test the application to ensure it’s working as expected

You'll have to locate where the game is installed in order to access these programs
Main thing could be easy cheat which is commonly bypassed by wemod or other hacks.
Step 2
Delete the Warhammer 40000 space marine 2 configuration file
then reverify the game files through steam.

And to the guy that reported this post, steam has verified this post and allowed it to remain. Im trying to help people.I cant help if you dont understand granting a game firewall permissions is not the same as opening your computer up to potential threats. Its working with or without mods people are getting the game running fine..

how can you say so? Is that official?

why somebody need to make new rules for firewall/router to satisfy some managers in "easy cheat"?

Yes, it's a very bad idea. To the OP, Please stop posting this "fix"! No one should be punching holes in their firewall if they just have a base install of the game and don't run any mods or trainers. Do NOT follow these instructions if you're looking for a fix for your regular Steam install of the game!

Because they were already there to begin with... the game alread modifies the firewall when you install it. They just forgot to code the eac permissions in this patch....

There's no reason to create the rules at all in order to test. I run my machine in a secure network segment and can safely turn off the firewall temporarily which would have the same effect. No dice.

yes, maybe you can

but why you must even try to make breach your own PC just because some random "official" "resolved" guide say it?
Nix Sep 26, 2024 @ 1:42pm
Nope, not resolved.
DerRotMax Sep 26, 2024 @ 1:47pm
There is ZERO reason to set "incoming" rules for a unmodded/modified game on Steam. Incoming rules are only for communication that originates from outside sources...that should never be happening with your game, all communication originates from your game connecting to outside servers, never the other way around. In the OP's case it probably makes sense because he's using a mod or trainer.

Exactly, it should never happen. Especially since, before the patch, the game worked perfectly.

IT does breach your pc it allows the game the access it needs to connect to the servers, youre not opening the ports for everything, just the game

seems to be wroking for the people who are using it and your not allowing incoming connections from random requests, your only allowing the application incoming requests which is needed in order to resolve the issue.
