AMD driver timeout?
Does anyone else keep getting this message and the game force closing?

I've tried following the basic online help things but dont seem to get anywhere.

Just when i thought my luck was getting better, i managed to play an entire level in a private lobby!!! when previously i couldn't join a game for more than 60 seconds before being pushed to offline mode. So the recent patch has helped with that problem.

I'm very technophobe and struggle with PC jargon, any helps for the old man over here lol

You can try installing latest BETA drivers here, they claim to have addressed the issue:

https://www.amd.com/en/resources/support-articles/release-notes/RN-RAD-WIN-24-20-11-01.html

Fair warning though, I'm getting a lot of stutters now after the update and I'm not sure if it's a driver problem or not, so you may end up swapping one problem for another.

Ill give it a go, it does specifically mention the timeout issue for space marine so fingers crosssed, much appreciate the possible fix

Good luck! If it does stutter, try putting FSR to quality or balanced, seems to have made things slightly better for me.

tried the update, the odd stutter, but then after maybe 30 minutes still getting timeout issue :'(
this really sucks because i literally updated my processor and graphics card for the first time in nearly 10 years to play more high spec games like this, rip my wallet and gameplay lol

There's a couple of other things you can try, one of which completely solved my crashing problem but it might be a bit much for a technophobe!

The first, easier option is to go into Adrenaline software and turn off instant replay if it's on: Record & Stream > Settings > Instant Replay > Disable

Also disable the AMD in-game overlay, and the Steam one as well for good measure.

The second more complicated one involves going into the BIOS, usually by tapping DEL when you turn your rig on. Once in there, find your memory settings, turn off a setting called XMP and then lower your RAM speed 100 - 200 MHz under what its max speed is. This is the one that solved all my crashes, but you'll need to work some things out.

If you go that route, get a program called HWiNFO, run it and it'll tell you exactly what hardware you have and what speeds your RAM is capable of. Get the make and model of your motherboard manufacturer and then Google how to access XMP settings and lower RAM clock speed for that model, then lower it to just under what it can do. Mine for example can run at 3200 MHz max, but I've got it set to 3066 MHz, or thereabouts.

Alternatively, there's the option of what I'm considering and that's selling the card and paying the NVIDIA premium. I've been using AMD for years, but the last couple have been nothing but driver problems, black screens and crashes.
