Cannot connect to servers instant error code AVF

After the patch the game just instantly throws a cannot connect to servers error AVF and trying to reconnect just instantly throws the error again. Verified files and it said was successfully verified but on relaunch it updated the Epic online services but when the game loaded again it again threw the same error and could not connect. Restarted steam and again same error.


UPDATE
As of Hotfix 3.1 you can connect to the game again but you need to add SteamDeck=1 %command% to the launch options to the game on your Linux desktop OS. I can confirm on Ubuntu i can connect to the game with the option added. Credit to poster of the answered post for the command fix

Try restarting windows, just in case its a pending update jamming something up.

i run on ubuntu using steam proton so windows errors cannot be an issue

but i don't have eac disabled? game ran fine yesterday and when i downloaded the patch i did nothing at all, just launched the game after the patch and getting the avf error

Same issue here on Nobara, looks like the game might no longer accept Linux as a platform?

no people are also reporting the same issue on windows as well

changing proton version (unofficial version too - proton GE ), verifying files, reinstall - not helped for me

before update game works fine, after - connection issues

so far validating files makes is update epic online, tried restarting steam then PC, nothing. Tried switching to a different proton, from 12 to 13, nothing. And went in and deleted the EAC folder and validated again and again same error AVF

You will be surprised, but it does. Although EAC itself if basically... Useless. WT practice tells me that whether EAC is on or off, cheaters will flourish. (And I mean cheaters who: 1 hit kill, aimbot, speedhack. Not who mod to enhance their experience in PvE - use all weapons on every class)
